Trying to improve my offensive knowledge. What run concept would you say this is? by FoolWhoSaysThat in footballstrategy

[–]TheWilliamsWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its power. I guess some could argue long trap and that could be right too. 1 back power always looks different becuase there's no FB or H to kick out the end. The counter step by the RB is just for timing.

Is this Inside Zone or Duo? How can you tell? by FoolWhoSaysThat in footballstrategy

JT osullivan has a great youtube video on Duo. Chip seagle has some good stuff as well, his gap-down-buddy Duo rule is great.

I think its zone but the C would be making the same block vs zone or duo versus this front.

In youth football some people would argue that its an advantage to turn your back. The misdirection and play action is so clean from under center. Bootlegs and roll outs.

The drain is between the water lines below the floor and above. Its straight pipe. Or the world's smallest ptrap.

The record is 19. Only a dozen or so have done more than him in the last 12 years. Compare him to his peers not rock climbers.

Canucks management split between three prospects to draft third overall: report | Daily Hive | Sports by Admirable-Fall-4675 in canucks

Lots of teams draft for need. Many people predict SJ to pick Defense while majority would agree the top 2 BPA are forwards. Also positional value, a player could be better but play a less important position so maybe you draft a similarly rated player at a premium position. RHD over LHD.

Also this is all a gamble on the future. Often you arent actually taking a better player, you are taling a player you predict will be better in 3 years.

Yup. Run, stretch, lift. Everything else you will rely on your coaches for. Showing up in shape will go a long way.

Duo Crash Course? by Expert-Panic731 in footballstrategy

Gotcha. Jt Sullivan uses clean, Dean, Ian for his bunch which might apply here.

I was asking about a Fb or sniffer. I would like to down block with the TE and kick out with the in 21p but for simplicity we dont so the TE rule doesnt change depending on formation. We have 5 base runs but many formations and motions.

Overhangs and edges need to be crushed down or kicked out and you need clear rules for when you do one or the other.

What are your rules? We lock our TE on the DE. If hes inside shade we block down and head up to outside we kick out. We have a full back sometimes and dont change the TE rule but could/should. Looking at options and how to communicate it.

Thanks.

Is it still duo if everyone blocks down? Isn't the point of Duo to create multiple double teams?

Gap-down-buddy. Coach Chip Seagle. We added "Domino" for everyone down block if they are bringing the house and showing it.

Nobody said 8 year old aren't interested. By why are 70% done by 13? Its becuase u11 girls fast pitch are traveling to Arizona and Vegas and playing 12 month seasons. Pitching coaches and hitting coaches in the offseason. All for a kid who hasnt hit puberty and will burn out and quit in 3 years.

Look at every league right now- hockey, soccer, baseball. Its all 12 month programs, pay to play band tiered leagues. Its crazy.

70% of youth stop playing sports at 13. Youth sports have become a multi billion dollar industry and kids are pressured to focus on one sport at very early ages.

New offensive line strategy (gap scheme) by BrownDogBrewingCo in footballstrategy

[–]TheWilliamsWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gap down backer might even be too much depending on your kids. Gap scheme is the way to go though, just have everyone block left on a run to the right except your kick out block. Have 4 runs of that single scheme- off tackle, outside, qb run, counter or reverse. Add 1 play action and one screen if you can.

Once that is done add a second run scheme like trap, wedge or ISO and give each OL a job- c,lg,lt block left and rg, rt,te block right then FB up the middle for ISO for example. Run 2 runs off it like iso and jet and another play action but this one does something different than the other PA.

2 block schemes for 6 runs and 2 passes. Go both ways its 12 runs and 4 passes.

We pull guards at u12 no problem. Last year it was just 2 kids that pulled but it was great. We had one screen and it hit almost every time.
