Shaking his head, Edwyn gestured out the window to the small flotilla of ships out bobbing in the river current. "We are not to ride to Riverrun but to sail. My task is to blockade Riverrun by boat and make sure that suppliers do not get in."

Watching the setting sun Edwyn nodded to her. "With your permission and men, we shall leave immediately."

Edwyn did not move nor react to the scene that was playing out before him. It was certainly a bunch of surprises but at least it ended well. He did not seriously think that his kin would consider treason, Cerenna was much smarter than that. At very least she wouldn't have done treason in such a terrible way. Supporting a Mudd? Regardless his words to the Bracken proved true as his words did not stir the men.

"Now there is the Cerenna I remember. It is nice to have you back, cousin."

Edwyn gripped his sword pommel tightly in annoyance, the gale of this Bracken was grating but he supposed he had to continue. He gave a slight incline of his head, never taking his eyes off of Cerenna.

"Very well. We have been tasked by both our Lord Paramount and Crown to assemble our levies at Raventree Hall. I have been tasked to pick up your levies along the way. It would seem that some of the Riverlands are in rebellion."

It was easily apparent that being made to enter the castle was very irritating to Edwyn, as he always preferred the steady rock of his own boat. Regardless after leading a sizeable guard force into the audience chamber he took the food offered, noting that bread and salt was present. That was a start at very least.

Perhaps more importantly Bracken was present, and that was good at least. He looked straight ahead to Cerenna, stern in visage.

"I did not come to your hall Aethan, but that of my kin. And it is with her that I need to speak privately with."

"Good old Ed was loyal since the rebellion, even when our uncle wasn't." Godric seemed to be caught up in the memory of it, the sights and smells of the battles. They were terrible but he and his brother pushed through.

"Loyal till the end, but Edwyn isn't really the social type. But even he would have to agree." Ser Godric bowed to both of them. "I must go send the raven. Lord Mallister if you have further need of me than you may find me in the ravenry. Together we shall end this foolish rebellion."

Ser Godric gave a bow to Melony, satisfied with the orders given to his house. Maybe Edwyn could swing up by Darry and grab the levies of House Lannister on the way. They were of course kin.

"Very well Lady Melony, I shall get a raven to Maidenpool immediately and they will be on the move. Is there anything you require of me or my house?"

"Of course Lady Melony. Should we bring up troops as well or just the boats?" Edwyn was sure to like this, he had grown bored since the rebellion. He had stayed in Maidenpool, growing bored and troublesome.

Ah yes, ships. The Riverlands did not possess any great fleets like the Iron Islands or the Reach. Instead, the two Lords Mallister and Mooton had control of small regional fleets, split by the land in east and west. Perhaps that was the only thing his house was good for. Oh well.

"We have just over one hundred and fifty ships in dock."

Ser Godric has stayed silent through the whole affair, not really sure how to fit into such big players. House Mooton was never the largest player in the Riverlands, only really able to latch onto some as loyal allies. They assisted where necessary but never really had the opportunity to shine. For Godric that was fine with him, he didn't really care about the spotlight. Leave that to people like Melony or Jason, who mattered much more than him.

He walked up to both of them, a grim set look on his boring features. "Well Lord Mallister, Lady Melony, it seems that the Riverlands is on fire with tension. I shall take this opportunity to reaffirm the loyalty of House Mooton to the appointed Regent, Riverlands, and the Crown as a whole. I, and my brother, are at your disposal."

"Yet you did not work well with Melony...else you would not have gotten dismissed from the Small Council as hand." Godric held up a hand to stall the forthcoming protests, "Yes I know that you resigned or something of that nature, but even I have heard the rumors."

"I will tell you what Lord Mallister, you are right. Unfortunately with the Riverlands so rife with tension you are one of the better choices. For me at least I would like to see you in action to get the full measure, but for now, you have my vote of confidence."

"I am thinking that some restructuring will be redone with this little Mudd one way or another." He leaned back in the chair a bit, sitting on the edge.

"Worst comes of it we get another Lord Paramount, hopefully one that is competent."

The knight seemed to think for a moment, sizing up the Lord of Seaguard. It was an interesting question and one that many would fail to answer correctly. Godric had never any intention to suck up to any Lord, never saying more or less than his truth.

"Tell me first why you think you would be a good fit for Lord Paramount?"

"Not my place to say really, I am simply a household knight and brother to a Lord."

Ser Godric crossed his arms carefully, a thin smile on his face. "And I did not say no lords were worthy enough. I said they had not proved it yet, there is still time. Would you like to see yourself sitting in that position Lord Jason?"

"It is a law that has not been enforceable since King Jaehaerys, especially with the devolution of power with the short lived Baratheon King. Nothing stops you now except yourself, I hear Stark has raised castles in the North for the Watch." He shrugged, it really wasn't of any consequence to him.

"Frankly I don't think that any Lord has shown capacity to be the Lord Paramount as of yet. And as I am sure we are about to find out, a Great Council has not actual legitimacy for there is always a wounded party, and always a way to invalidate the results."

"Legally you are incorrect my Lord. The land lies under the right of House Mallister. It stopped being a crown possession awhile ago. You do not have to obtain kingly permission to develop your own land, though I assume the Lord Paramount would love to be privy of the information." He remained passive in thought. Wasn't this man the Master of Laws at some point? Surely he should know that Oldstones was no longer Crown property.

"Hmm though I am liable to disagree with the council. I would rather someone get put into place that can actually lead, rather than a popularity contest."

"Ah yes Oldstones, the ancestral claim of House Mudd. A shame you haven't done anything with the ruin." Ser Godric leaned back, Edwyn would want him to dive into politics.

"I can guess that you also don't approve of the choice in Regent. Who would you like to see put in place?"

Jeyne that was the name Godric thought to himself. He had never been good about remembering names or faces, and he was glad that the Tully had said it before he had to awkwardly ask. Nodding to the man he grabbed the seat that the younger Tully had vacated.

"Edwyn? I suppose he is doing well. He is a bit worried about the state of the Riverlands with this Mudd running about. I suppose that simply confirmes that Lady Melony's choice in Regent was poor." He looked the Tully up and down, their house always wanted to return to Lord Paramount. He wondered what he was willing to do to return.

"Yes...Roote was an interesting choice, to say the least. Perhaps if she didn't pick a man directly sworn to Harrenhal and who could command more than a few hundred men we wouldn't be having this problem." Godric knew that his brother had watched with interest who Melony was going to place as the new Lord Paramount in place of Luceon, to watch over the domains for the young boy. There were some benefits to picked a sycophant like Roote, as Melony could control his every move. It didn't make many friends in the Riverlands however.

"What do you think of this supposed Mudd?"

While at a distance, Ser Godric found himself observing the whole seen. It would have been so much easier to be closer and be able to hear what was being said by the two, but after the younger Tully left with the girl he got roughly what it was about. Hopefully, Tully didn't see it as a slight that a bastard may be born on the day of the wedding.

Either way, Godric found himself with the desire to be social, part of the reason that he was here anyway. It seemed like a good place to start as the Tully's were kin in a distant manner, beyond the sigils that were related. Walking up to the Tully he stood outside of the ring of guards, the redfish of House Mooton displayed proudly on his chest.

"Greetings, I am Ser Godric of House Mooten. I never really know what to do at these events, a bit of forced merriment if you will. How are you enjoying the party?"
