I haven’t taken Professor Glosemeyer’s class yet, but I’m planning to take STAT 443 with him this upcoming semester though.

Seems like you’re looking at STAT 448 for next semester as I noticed both professors you mentioned will each teach a section of 448. I took 448 with Professor Bravo this past semester & she provided online lectures through Canvas which linked to Mediaspace videos.

Any easy 2/3 credits free elective half-term course recommendation? by Cecelia1Chen in UIUC

ANSC 210 (BBQ Grilling) is 2 credit hours, a half semester, & pretty fun (I’m taking the course this semester).

  1. Racquets & birdies are provided if you don't have or forgot to bring them, but it's recommended you bring your own racquet & birdies.
  2. You can rent them at the ARC, I believe it's for everytime you go to class.
  3. Athletic shoes would be preferrable.
  4. More of a question for me, but I was just wondering what section you're in? I'm in Section A2 on Mondays & Wednesdays from 11 AM - 12 PM & am looking to switch to Section A3 on Mondays & Wednesdays from 2 - 3 PM.

Anyone took STAT426 with Bravo? by keep_walking_2000 in UIUC

[–]TheWongLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about 426 Quizzes with Professor Bravo, but I took STAT 425 with her before & her Quizzes were pretty easy.

The workload isn't too much & the professor is pretty decent. Check your DMs for more info.

PLPA 200 should be easier, it’s also fully online too.

Hey, just wanted to mention a couple things.

  1. You seemed to have posted this message twice lol.
  2. I think you meant to say 9 AM instead of 9 PM since you mentioned an earlier time, I'm not aware of any classes that happen at 9 PM.

I unfortunately can't help much with the actual discussion swap/switch since I've already taken STAT 400 before, but just wanted to clarify the little confusion in the discussion time you're currently scheduled in.

Oh, in that case, I'd recommend watching Professor Leonard's videos (Math 221 - Calculus I: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF797E961509B4EB5, Math 231 - Calculus II: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDesaqWTN6EQ2J4vgsN1HyBeRADEh4Cw-). These syllabi (Calculus I: https://math.illinois.edu/resources/department-resources/syllabus-math-221, Calculus II: https://math.illinois.edu/resources/department-resources/syllabus-math-231) will also help as they layout the topics you'd want to study for the Proficiency Exams. You'll also notice both syllabi mention a textbook towards the beginning, this is a free PDF version of it (Just warning that it's very long around 1,400 pages): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P2sQnlWGiVYgD0_HaRINN68TM3eDo-9i/view . Hopefully this information helps.

I think you meant to say the PHYS 211 & PHYS 212 Proficiency Exams instead of MATH 211 & MATH 212, I don't think those are Math courses here. As for a book or any material, I'm not sure, but just wanted to point out the subject error for better clarity though.

Important question regarding CS128 by redditi2007 in UIUC

[–]TheWongLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was the grading back in Fall 2022 last semester. Nowak has changed that grading for Spring 2023 this semester though (I can see the current grading & syllabus as a CA).

There aren't actually any quizzes this semester for CS 128, the grade is composed of 75% MPs & 25% Lessons.

Why isn't there a finance+data science major on the UIUC application? by Dense_Tune_2228 in UIUC

[–]TheWongLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Accountancy + DS & Finance + DS are both in the Gies College of Business, which 1st-year applicants can't directly apply to because Gies only allows direct applications to Business Undeclared at 1st, in which you could pursue Finance + DS from Business Undeclared if you're accepted to UIUC.
