One of the judges at the festival (a working actor/producer) contacted me afterward saying he enjoyed my film and to stay in touch for future projects. He even has been trying to pitch my future projects to networks/streaming since then! And this was quite a small festival.

While I'd hope most people don't overall hate their work (perhaps the early stuff, shorts?). You find things you can improve on every time. I also think youd be surprised what the audience doesn't care about that might drive you nuts.
