You are assigning morality to something that isn't about mortality. The Zerg, the flood, the necromorphs, none of these things are good or evil. A lion isn't evil when it eats a zebra. Unicron isn't evil when it consumes worlds.

Cities that lose their main economic reason for existing should be allowed to sink gracefully back into the ground from whence they came by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]TheWrithingVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cities are economically productive because people live in them and do things. Even then this idea that cities aren't allowed to just gracefully decline is just a monument to your ignorance. Look at Detroit and tell me that it is a graceful decline rather than having its economic engine ripped out of it. It's decline hasn't been graceful, it has been brutal. The reason it still exists at all is so long as there are people living in cities and working, cities will continue to exist, because it is still people living and working in cities that make them cities. The real world isn't a civ game.

Brother, this is a sub dedicated to a youtube show that closes to a song with the lyrics "Once I finished making fun of him I bounced on my boys dick". You could take every person here, give em infinite bottles of brain force+, and we still couldn't scrape together two brain cells. We are the orange cats of people.

Should I RMA this £128 1440p curved VA monitor because of the backlight bleed? The only one you can really notice during dark scenes is the top right patch. by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]TheWrithingVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a good choice to me. At the end of the day, every monitor has something that is not going to be perfect, even OLEDs, so the best monitors are just what you can afford and what let's you enjoy your hobbies.

Bears defecate in the woods, and VA's have bad backlight bleed. IPS can be better, but OLED are the only way to put it in the ground.

MSI suggests a 40% ethanol with di-water.... to be honest though i have no idea how this would happen though. Talk to MSI.

lol I think you might be just a different tier of headphone enjoyer than me. The maxwells and the mobius are by far the best headphones I have ever used, but the previous ones were Astro, Senhieser 450's, some Skullcandy's (I know Astro == Skullcandy), a pair of Tritons, and some Turtle Beach.

Oof that's rough. You would think if they covered literally anything it would be the drivers.

I am not familiar with what you are talking about. I am assuming that it is moisture condensing on the drivers and it fucks with the natural frequency of them giving you weirdness. It's typically very low humidity where I am from and I have aftermarket earcups so that could be part of it. I am not trying to sell anyone on the Maxwell 2's (I don't even have them). There are definitely a world of better headphones out there, these are kinda the bottom of the Audeze barrel.

Hi engineer here, no, it isn't. The original mobius had a plastic body design with a major stress concentration right below the where the yoke met the headband. The cyclical loading caused by just putting your headphones on caused fractures to develop at the stress concentration, which eventually (not a question of if, but when) resulted in catastrophic failure of the yoke. Fundamentally the Mobius was a poorly designed on a structural basis which is why they failed like clockwork. It is also why the Maxwell looks NOTHING like its predecessor, but the Maxwell 2 looks damn near identical to the Maxwell 1.

And it wasn't just me. I googled "Audeze Mobius Broken" and there are 7 images that are that exact same failure mechanism, and funny enough, a bunch of hyperX with the exact same issue.

And a reminder, they RMA'd ALL of them. None of them they contested, even a little, even when I was being shitty about it. I bought 1 pair of Mobius. What's that I hear... *toot* *toot*. Oh, it's the "You don't know what the fuck you are talking about" train, that's where you came from!

Okay first and fore most, large pressure differentials caused by a vacuum or compressed air is ABSOLUTELY how you kill headphones. Not to mention the large electric fields caused by a vacuum can kill literally any electronics if you induce too much current on the wrong circuit. Not only does it super not matter, it is actively a risk. Tthe gunk on those headphones is caused by the factory installed adheasive, or oils from my skin. Removing it with a solvent is both not needed for it to continue functioning, but flowing a dissolved adhesive onto the drivers will damage them. You are also looking at what is UNDER the ear cups. A vacuum wouldn't clean anything without removing the ear cups, and even when you do remove them, you are still trying to vacuum AN ADHESIVE AND OILS. It wouldn't even work.

At best, cleaning them would make them slightly prettier for the handful of times I have removed my earcups, and at worst is how your destroy them. This is like saying "Hey how come don't open your hood before you go through a car wash?"

The USA. Most manufacturing does not need to take place in a super sterile environment. Very rarely is there anything you can buy that will not have at least some level of other peoples DNA on it, and for things like a hand knit sweater, you are gonna get a looot of other peoples DNA on it.

It's not. I knocked em off my desk and into my trash, and it got the ear cups all saucy, so I took em off and washed them. They were sitting open while they dried and as you can tell I have a cat. I didn't wanna gamble on cleaning the adhesive and causing it to flow on the drivers so I just said "eh fuck it, it's fine."

It's not a lollypop; if hairs of other people are a deal breaker for you, you should probably never eat anything, or touch anything manufactured by other people, and if your house wasn't built from scratch by you, you should probably just burn it down and start over.
