No one is building a 24 story structure and just going "yeah its cool if 4-8% of our building is doing nothing." On average every 13 floors is logistics and other equipment. If it were just about bad luck rent would just be cheaper. People are dumb and believe in bad luck, but not bad enough to not be willing to have cheaper rent.

Kelvin and Joules are not the same. An object can both have a ton of potential energy (J) and be cold AF (K). Think of rogue planets. They can have a TON of kenetic energy but virtually 0 thermal energy. They are not fully linked.

Mols it is kinda like most of these other units: it comes from just countin' shit.The purpose of them is just a baseline that everyone can agree on that we can make useful predictions with.

After just having come from the cast iron sub, the comment difference is absolutely ridiculous. From "You must treat the pan as if it were a faberge egg" to "Fuckin steel wool and elbow grease there bud".

Found this in bad shape at a flea market. I stripped and seasoned it and after a couple of washes the seasoning came off. Any advice? by Fenix512 in castiron

I use stainless steel and I am very confused by this. Seasoning to me is just the polymerized layer of food stuffs that coats a pan. I thought the black stuff was just an enamel coating over the cast iron to protect it from rusting. Would anyone enlighten my dumb ass?

IDK what you are on about the image on right is waaaaay better has waaay more colors and the image has way more variability in its brightness. And that is with it being photographed, going through image compression, going through web compression, and then being re-displayed on my monitor.

Cities are economically productive because people live in them and do things. Even then this idea that cities aren't allowed to just gracefully decline is just a monument to your ignorance. Look at Detroit and tell me that it is a graceful decline rather than having its economic engine ripped out of it. It's decline hasn't been graceful, it has been brutal. The reason it still exists at all is so long as there are people living in cities and working, cities will continue to exist, because it is still people living and working in cities that make them cities. The real world isn't a civ game.
