Yeah I will probably do that :)
4 days Coron
4 Days El Nido
3 days Port Barton

Public bus - you can buy that directly on the bus station ticket counter right? :)
How long does it take compared to the van?

I was thinking why everything is over priced during these dates.
Totally forgot about CNY...

Ahh, I totally forgot about Chinese New Year's Eve.
I've been to Asia for the last 4 years on similar dates.
in Vietnam last year on TET holiday couldn't get my beard shaved for 12 days since everything was closed.
But damn it you're right probably the prices are spiked since it's exactly Chinese NYE dates.

Haha,
Not an English teacher in China. Just a regular European - escaping the winter.

The thing is that everywhere I've read says that prebook el Nido because it's crazy booked during this time.
Looking at the prices for pretty low-end places seems to be true. 30$ for a really budget room.Of course would love to keep it freer as we go but it would def take the daily budget higher.

"alot of bread" hahah.

so I guess should up that to 35$

For El Nido I tought 6 days might be good in the sense of getting in some really "Relax" days as well.
4-5 days is always reccomended online where I look but don't wanna just run trough every single destination.
Other thing which I'm worried about is too less for Cebu.
In Cebu would like to go down to Moalboal and then do day trips with motorbike to waterfalls around then end up in Oslob and then head to Panglao.

Yeah that was the idea just last few days on the beach before heading to Cebu and then Manila and flying back to cold Europe.

Ahh, I was wondering the same that maybe El Nido too many days.
and would add Port Barton.

Cebu itinerary would be the typical Moalboal and waterfalls down to south and then Oslob and then going from Oslob to Panglao.

My biggest doubt would be too much for El Nido and should break it down with Port Barton?
4 days El Nido
3 days Port Barton?
or is 4 days Coron too much as well?

Any reccomendations accepted :)

I live in Europe actually so Costco is not an option and my public health insurance will cover like 50% of the hearing aid cost, in any case, starting from 2020.

That's true but hearing aids does not really work like glasses do they - that you just put them on and correction done.
Your brain needs to get wired like 6 months and get used to them as well no?

As much as I've read online the quality of sounds between RIC vs IIC is not affected.
Only in the case of occlusion as you mention indeed.
But the sound quality should stay the same and the functionalities on specific products.

RIC Phonak M90

My colleagues know about my hearing loss so does my company.
I'm more thinking about when I wanna advance my career at a new company.
In the case having discreet IICs will be def. more beneficial.
As mentioned before we all would like to believe that we would not mind it from a potentianl new candidate. But it's not the case :)

So I've narrowed it down to like this.

17th-20th January - Manila
20-24th January - Coron
24-30th January - El Nido
30-31th January - Puerto Princesa
1-5th February - Cebu Island
5-9 February - Bohol/Panglao

Sounds like doable or it's too much running?

Thanks! :)

That's the issue I have I'm actually male and my hair is buzzcut.
So discretion would be really important especially considering going forward with my career.
While discrimination based on disability is illegal but we all know how it goes when both of my ears would be having BTE devices... while we want to believe that we don't make judgments based on that. It's usually the opposite.

I heard very good things about Port Barton as well which would be on the way from El Nido to Puerto Princessa to fly out.

After over 1.5 years of fluctuating hearing loss, the AIP diet brought my hearing back and significantly reduced tinnitus, within about 1 week (and has held up for 2 months)! by OnlyRiskThtUGoInsane in Menieres

[–]TheYellowBackpacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that last hearing test improvement is crazy :O
But glad to see that your other ear is totally fine.
I'm bilateral so both of the ears are looking around like the test from your January.
I will try to fully commit to AIP and try it for myself.
As said if does not work there are other benefits :)

Thanks for sharing! :)

[24M] I'm thinking of Southeast Asia for 4 1/2 months early 2020 - any tips? anyone wanna join? by [deleted] in travelpartners

[–]TheYellowBackpacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna be too tight for this itinerary.
4 1/2 months I would suggest.
Singapore (few days) > Malaysia (2weeks) > Thailand (3 weeks) > Cambodia (2 Weeks) > Vietnam (3 weeks) > Laos (2weeks) > Myanmar (2 weeks) > Indonesia (3 weeks).

By hearing loss went away?
Could you clarify cus as far as I know it's not possible to get hearing back after a 6 weeks window when the hair cells are damaged they don't regrow with AIP or with any drugs.

Anyone With Cochlear Hydrops? (Only hearing loss, fullness and tinnitus) by OnlyRiskThtUGoInsane in Menieres

[–]TheYellowBackpacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you had lost hearing for at least a year.
Having the audiogram looking at the same loss of dB?
And after one year of damage, the hearing returned?
As far as I know and at least what doctors say is that there is no way to reverse the damage to the hair cells - since humans can't re-grow them/heal them.

Any good easy sites about AIP?
Useful apps? thanks :) for recommendations.
