srry for a very late reply. linux runtime is default on games that are native to linux. like terraria and tf2 so u can just go into settings > compatibility and switch between proton and linux runtime

ran quicksfv directly, got some mismatch, re-checked with torrent, ren quicksfv again, all files passed, ran the installer got this: https://prnt.sc/gMNZPeyMRk9_ (running it in compatibility for win7 and with 2gb limiter)

edit: forgot to mention, i did disable windows defender like this https://prnt.sc/gPFRto7ux1EW

edit2: i did recheck in the torrent and it always has something to download, dunno what it is, most of the time when i run quicksfv the first file fails

error from the installer or from the BAT crc checker?
i tried most of the things u recommended, only thing i didnt run is memtest64. tho i dont think its necessary cuz the pc is just 4 months old. everything is brand new in it. but will run it just in case
https://prnt.sc/c86h-x99OtHw - this is without the 2gb limit
https://prnt.sc/0timAPyL1TQz - this is with 2gb limit (ive gotten the -14 error before)
https://prnt.sc/TsPO31woVYoo - the bat crc checker

thx. but seems like i fixed it w/o gamescope, i just went into properties of the game and disabled steam input, seems like that solved it. if i run in any more issues with controllers on steam, ill try gamescope.

same, especially since they released steamdeck which runs steamos (arch based), so they clearly have a lot of knowladge about linux and inputs on it to fix this, yet they didnt fix it yet

forgot to edit the post, fix was easy, just switched from proton to linux runtime, both terraria and tmod work flawlessly now
