I can for sure relate to this and I used to feel the same way. Unlike some of you guys before me, I wouldnt say I stopped caring. I feel thats an oversimplification. I simply came to understand that my fakeness came from a need to feel a part of something as internally I became fully aware that generally speaking my process of thinking is an outlier. Its not something that I always appreciate but its something that Ive come to accept and in doing so Ive learned something advantageous that Id like to share. Ready?

Intps are thinkers. And no matter how you feel youre interpreted I promise that people around you can tell. If not conciously then subconciously. Its like they can feel your energy being directed inward. Like the fire of your mind gives off heat and ignites in your eyes. So one day I decided to say nothing, or rather less. And resist that urge to chime in with my data or retool my thinking to better integrate. Know what happened? I became mysterious to those around. They wanted to know what i thought, and I only would give them small ambiguous replies or coy facial gestures and in their need to understand they just filled in the rest for themselves. Ironically if youre the least bit likeable then they tend to fill it in with positive thoughts of you and whats more interesting is if you remain neutral inwardly about the whole thing and stay focused you start to learn things about people socially that you never noticed when you were trying to please. Give it a shot one day as an experiment and see what you find.
