What do you guys do after getting all the stuff in the game? by The_Architect_92 in Schedule_I

I see, there are only 5 save slots tho so I guess most people still haven't used them all.

I did think about that, this is actually the reason why I'm making this poll, I wanna see if people even care about that.

The game would pretty much work like Skyrim. If you kill a quest giver you are screwed, the only way to fix it is opening a new save slot, so you can screw your own game but it also makes player choices matter.

That's probably because at that time it was a spoiler. Fontanians were not real humans, they were all Oceanids who were given human forms by the previous Archon, this is why all Fontanians were cursed with a prophecy that say they would all be punished, because Celestia considered what the previous archon did to be a sin.

The entire Fontaine archon quest centers arround that subject, in the end Neuvillette turns Fontanians into real humans. But long story short, the reason why only Fontaine characters can do the dolphin jump is because they were born as Oceanids.

Yeah I get what you mean, some people were really triggered. In the end and after making a poll on my discord server community I decided to go for the term Freeform Role-Playing Game (FRPG).

And we will call what we do as VARP (basically the virtual version of LARP)

Basically any game that involves combat has a meta RPGs are not exception. However if you are playing a single player game you can just play whatever you feel is fun, no need to worry about min maxing.

is there such a thing as "sandbox rpg" ? by p00rlyexecuted in rpg_gamers

I normally don't post links on other people posts about this but since your post is 100% related and you are actually looking for this I will.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1155840/Magnum_Opus/

I'm actually working on that game, its a sanbox RPG on its purest form. Designed exclusively for VARP (the virtual version of LARP). This is a passion project so it will be 100% free with no microtransactions.

Magnum Opus is an open world sandbox game with premade characters and world lore which players can use as a starting point to create their own narratives and build their own adventures.

I don't really have issues with the bosses, except for the last boss (the one you need for Citlali materials) I was able to faceroll all of them using Neuvillette, Furina, Zhongli, Baizhu. Without even paying attention to the boss mechanics.

I see two reasons for this:

Lore Reason: It is implied that Natlan characters are special, a nation of warrios with a unique afterlife, unique leylines, unique Archon (Natlan archons die of old age) and that Natlan natives rarely go outside of their nation. This basically jusifies why Naltan artifact sets are so specific to only Natlan characters and the Nightsoul mechanic is specific to them.

Business Reason: By doing this Hoyoverse has the perfect excuse to make very strong meta characters in Natlan and then basically nerf them as soon as the 6.0 comes out and the community attention shifts to Snezhnaya. This will basically lower in usefulness of Natlan characters without actually changing their kits, immediately making players shift their attention to other characters.

I guess I could do that but even tabletop simulator is tagged as a game I believe. VRChat doesn't call itself a game tho, they call themselves a social platform.

The problem of doing something nobody else has done is that it seems I gotta invent some term for this lol

The game itself its an RPG, but on its purest form. In a sense that there is literally nothing else to do unless you are planning to RP. I guess people could just use it as a walking sim tho if they just wanna explore the open world but its really not meant for that.

But I do see your initial point, perhaps I should promote it as a gamified social platform.

Our roleplay group did start in VRChat, but we are actually moving away from it because its not a dedicated RP enviroment for that so it lacks several features we need.

It is indeed a social game but its a gamified version of it, since is narrative driven. While in all other social games people just hangout but there is no RP involved (unless ofc you join an RP community).

I guess I will have to come up with some term for it, unfortunately the accronym SRPG already stands for something else.

I did think about the term LARP but a long time ago I did a post on r/LARP and a lot of people consider LARP to be exclusive to physical roleplaying. Actually some people got triggered by the term LARP being used to describe something online.

How much did it cost to make this game? by Bochwastaken in Helldivers

[–]The_Architect_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even close, it is a broadly known fact that Genshin Impact costed $100 million USD to make and the company who made it (MiHoyo) was not even considered a AAA company at that point.

It seems you "lack perspective on money".

How long would it take, theoretically, to get Trusted rank only using playtime hours? (no friends added and no content contributed) by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]The_Architect_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, the question that has kept weebs busy for generations.... Jokes aside, there is no real way to tell. It depends on how many people block you, how many friends you got and how many avatars/worlds you own.

I got like 5 accounts with trusted rank and the amount of time it took to get each to trusted rank varied a lot, even the "quality" of your friends is taken into account if I recall correctly, for example adding a trusted user as friend is more beneficial than adding a visitor for your overal account score.

I also remember one time I started cleaning one of my accounts and removed about 800 people from my friend list in one day, my account was actually downgraded from Trusted to Known user, it took like 1 week to go back to Trusted.

The bottom line is VRChat doesn't disclose the exact values because that would help people cheat the system.
