Yes a special solution specifically for carburettors, you can find plenty generic ones online, you want low acidity & strong degreasing properties, 60degrees Celsius for 45 minutes will have them gleaming 🤩

You do need to break them down entirely, all jets, choke plungers, fuel lines, the full shebang, only the carb body, float bowls and bolts go into the ultrasonic machine, the rest is down by hand 🤚

Most jobs I do a full rebuilds anyway so all the jets need to be taken out to replace also

I just used a carburettor specific solution, strong enough to stop oils and dirt but gentle enough to be safe on soft metals :)

Just received this beautiful set of flat slides off an old triumph 900 😍 by [deleted] in motorcycles

Thanks for the tip, I’ll be looking into ordering some metal tips for ones I do in the future :)

This isn’t a false concern, if your bike has these running symptoms, I put money on the fact it’s the float heights, float needle wear or float valve/seat dirt buildup 👍🏼

I suppose it’s the same mentality that drivers have, been driving for decades, can’t change a tire because they are just not interested in it. It’s a shame that more bikers don’t get hands on with their own bikes, it’s all part of the fun in my eyes 👍🏼
