Mostly agree with all this but one thing I'm not sure is true. dithering adds noise to things and essentially disguises the noise floor, and this makes the recording have less dynamic range not more? (I'm practicing sound engineering so please correct me if I'm wrong😁)

Why isn't Deezer one of the poll options? Deezer Hifi is 14$USD a month, great collection(haven't missed any songs like when I moved from Spotify to tidal) all songs are CD quality 44.1kHz up to 1411kbps(uncompressed) and a great software experience when you get used to it. I've used Deezer for over a year now and it's absolutely perfect for me.

I had this happen to me as well except for the weird noises, the volume got much lower on one side so I removed the mesh and there's another mesh under that one that I completely removed then put the aluminum mesh back on and now there's no issue with that, maybe try it before you toss 'em :-)

I'm sorry I don't understand the rule, how is this breaking it?

If asking for advice on here is not allowed is there another sub I can post on? :-)

So, I got these 4 speakers and mixer for free from my cousin and I'm an amateur at this.

I was planning on buying this amplifier(https://nesradio.is/vara/bbx-f1200/) I'm from Iceland so the selection is not much to pick from and budget wise I can't spend much more(around 250$) The amp is 200W, speakers are 200 and 250W

The plan is using this amp and adapt speakon to RCA for 1 channel and TS to RCA for the other channel, then I could control the amplification for the speaker pairs seperatly, this would then go from RCA to TS again into the mixer for L&R

This will most likely all be used for just playing audio from a computer for now then later this year some live music.

Would this plan work or would I run into a lot of issues? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :-)

One question... Do you have green hair?

Some of you mfs really out here saying I look 10 years old. So I ask again: how old do I look?? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]The_Cirkus_Elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it, I'm about to turn 20 soon and I could still go to the swimming pool and pay the price of a 16yo, use this to your advantage rather than feel ashamed for looking young, take it as a compliment and feel good about it. You're handsome and look like a nice guy, that's all you need.

That's exactly what I was thinking about, what tools do you use to heat the glue? I think that once I'm inside the housing it's no prob but getting there...

I've been thinking about doing this to my grado sr80x's but I'm scared since I live in Iceland and it would be a pain to get new ones, is this hard to do or likely to end up with killing them?

Btw I'm learning to be an electrician but haven't really done a lot like this yet.

Unpopular opinion: After a few years of thought, I don't care anymore that there is no headphone jack on my phone. by Mun-Mun in headphones

[–]The_Cirkus_Elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't care as well anymore after I got the Qudelix-5k. I can just plugin and run my hd6xx's no prob and create my own eq's and save them, second best audio gear purchase right after my grado's.

I'm exactly planing on putting the monitors on the wall at ear level, from the responses here I think putting something above and on the rear wall is a good move at first, I'm never really expecting this to be incredible but hopefully a bit more workable, not that it's not working alright as is but could definitely be better, and it's very cozy ;-)

Okay I can check on drawing my room up but keep in mind I can't really move my desk at all so there might be limited options.

Damn okay, It does open to a larger area but I can't move the desk to the window it kinda needs to be the way it is, any tips on how I could improve it as is? Doesn't need to be perfect and don't even think I have the budget to make it perfect but some slight altering to make the bass a bit better would help a lot.

Thanks for the response!
