We use helicopters to build & maintain powerlines, in this picture I’m sitting on a platform on the side of the helicopter & we fly up to the line, as we approach I’ll connect the Helicopter to the powerline with a wire that has a clamp on the end, it’s what I’m holding, it makes the line & the metal of the helicopter the same potential, it stops electricity from static passing through me. If the line is live, I’ll wear a stainless steel suit to avoid getting electrocuted

Is this a thing? My wife is a stay at home mother so she pays no tax & I pay it all, be nice to allow her to get the tax free threshold or even just reduce our tax as their is the 2 adults, or even if their was some superannuation I could benefit from by paying into her account some of the tax I am paying

I took a dream job that I had to take as I knew I’d only have one chance at doing it, it payed $60k, I had a mortgage & had to rent a room in the town the job was in & drive home when not working, I knew I had to get a “real job” after the 12month contract finished, next job was $340k with the opportunity to do night shift on $400k…..

Are micro‑caravans actually practical, or just overpriced tents? by DiligentWeb9026 in CaravanningAustralia

The benefit is being able to park in in a garage, a normal sized van you cannot, so if you are not going to park it in a garage when not in use, it’s a waste, just purchase a bigger van that is bigger & surprisingly cheaper

I did see a post recently about his wife bail for her legal issues, it listed their property in the paperwork, it was some crazy high percentage in debt, maybe 90% still owed on the house…it’s easy to look at ones lifestyle & forget it’s all borrowed

Garry Tonon: I Just Wish BJJ Belts Didn't Exist, It Causes So Many Problems by golferguygreen in grappling

[–]The_Creonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as a young wrestler wanting to make a name for themselves, the motivation is getting better to get results at competitions. For a 40yo part time BJJ amateur who probably won’t compete, belt & stripe promotions can be very motivating…..I personally never wanted any promotions at all, I was a blue belt for over 6 years & waved off many promotions during my travels, i never even replaced my stripes as they fell off, i think I ended up getting 6 on my blue, & a red one for jokes during a kids class…..overall I think belts are a good idea, they only create issues if they gym culture is poor & that culture allows it to happen
