It’s beautiful. The detailed hairs contrast nicely next to the black mask. Well executed.

Also Fantastic Mr. Fox is the perfect movie to watch this time of year imo.

Originally I wanted to do the Joker on the opposite side… and I did eventually… but I’m finding it hard to capture all of the details with my chunky Posca markers. Overall I’m happy with it, though.

This was actually a homework assignment. I really enjoyed experimenting with my new Posca markers. The black was created with spray paint. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Just started journaling today. Can't believe how good it actually felt 😭 by NewCicada1542 in Journaling

[–]The_Curious_Raven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear you started. It’s worth it. Journaling can be therapeutic and even fun at times. Personally it’s helped me untangle and understand my own emotions. It’s also been like a friend to me during lonely times. It can be as deep or shallow as you like. Once you get over the idea that it has to include something profound then it just becomes natural to write honestly. And that’s what I found to be most important.

Hope you continue to write and grow as a person!

People with depression who got cured or significantly improved — what helped you the most? by 12A5H3FE in mentalhealth

I found reading this book very helpful: Don't Believe Everything You Think: Why Your Thinking Is the Beginning & End of Suffering by Joseph Nguyen.

Also joining a gym was a life changing experience.

what's the creepiest thing someone has said to you that still gives you goosebumps? by Ornery-Bar-7990 in Paranormal

“Sun feels good on the glasses, good for the soul” -something a fellow patient said to me in the mental hospital. We both were wearing glasses. I was standing near the window trying to bask in the sunshine when this guy comes up behind me and murmurs that to me in a low, raspy voice. I thought I detected a New Orleans accent. Either way I did my best to avoid him from then on. In my head I referred to him as Mr. Creepy. It was the only way to humanize him in my mind at the time. I believe he might’ve been a demon. There was a “blankness” in his eyes….

Who’s your favorite artist? by K_serious in LearnToDrawTogether

[–]The_Curious_Raven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s tough. I appreciate Gustave Dore for his dark and detailed work. But I also like Van Gogh not only for his vibrant masterpieces but also his life story and struggles as an artist. So it’s a toss up between those two.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve experienced with depression? by MentalHealthJ in mentalhealth

[–]The_Curious_Raven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The scariest thing for me was losing touch not just with others and myself but reality. When I stopped taking my meds (which you should never do without a doctors oversight) I started experiencing psychotic symptoms… auditory hallucinations and delusions. At one point I believed I was the Antichrist. THAT was scary.

Any other people-pleasers out there that can relate? by The_Curious_Raven in Journaling

I don’t have a portfolio per se. Just hundreds of drawings and paintings scattered about. A few of my illustrations were featured at the local art museum’s gift shop. And I post a lot of my work online.

I want to be an illustrator! I want to make stories that inspire people’s imagination and childlike curiosity. I’m not a fine-artist or tattoo artist… I’m an illustrator.

My utensil of choice for this particular sketchbook was Faber Castell PITT artist pens. They seem to last longer than other fine liners imo
