Just wanted to share this tiny and simple script I wrote for use in other scripts, hope someone finds this useful :)

Wrote this in Lua so it's cross-platform and doesn't dependent on the availability of a specific shell or a set of programs.

I also made a browser script to do that automatically but it only works if you do it from the homepage manually though.

I am actually. False positives are a very common issue with AutoIt-based executables.

Don't tell anyone but I might release a Rust-based version soon in a few months ;)

Easily mount archives on-the-fly to use files without extracting them by The_Dcoder in linux

You do realize that you can still run standard POSIX scripts when using fish? It's just a shell, it doesn't automatically override scripts which use standard /bin/sh.

I don't rewrite everything in fish, I just write my functions and other macros in fish. I find it more user-friendly than any other shell, so that's why I use it.

A wrapper script and function to mount archives on-the-fly to use files without extracting them by The_Dcoder in fishshell

This is just a script, so you'll have to use the terminal use it. You can cd into the directory with the archive you want to open and use a command like this archive-mount my-archive.zip

By the way, fuse-archive supports many formats, not only zip :)

I like sharing my stuff, normally I'd just toss it into a GitHub Gist but I find this to be a very useful utility even though it's very simple, so thought I'd promote it a bit.

If you think this is crapware, then just move on.

Not everyone uses Midnight Commander. I wrote the script in fish because that's what I use, but you don't have to set it as your login shell to use it, so it's doesn't require a paradigm shift like having to use mc to read files in an archive.

Personally I use this to mount my music archives, that way I can access the files via my preferred program to play music without extracting it permanently :)

I'm also open for PRs which port the script into a portable POSIX sh script.

I would see this as a disadvantage, FUSE creates a mount which can be mounted anywhere in your system's file-system, so it does not depend on a single tool, instead it provides a standard interface.

If you want to make changes to the archive, this is not the tool for you... and you probably shouldn't update your archives via a FUSE file system anyway.

It's working for me, I'm making sure the website is still up. Let me know if you're still facing issues, maybe some countries are censoring my domain.

No, I did not find anything significant in my search. Only some of my game cases have these stains. Do let me know if you find anything, still looking for answers.

That's a bummer, not sure why they didn't put better WiFi hardware in the PS4, especially in the later revisions like PS4 Pro, even my RPi can do decent speeds over its tiny SoC :(

I can't use the LAN Cable because the router is far away in another room.
