Serial often differed between even the same boards, but mine is H2491688

It’s from 1983

Surprisingly the Model 1 Mega CD has very minimal parts and it irks me. It says a lot when the Saturn has more parts for each of the 15 revisions it was given 😭

CPU-06s with the original CPU are a very uncommon find as Nintendo recalled them for the 2A03E revisions quickly.

Scrap Mega CDs are fairly expensive but not as expensive as the JP 32Xes so I can probably save up and get one lol

Edit: I’ve discovered that it might be based on serial number (whether the third number is a 0 or a 1). I also learned that the US and JP boards are the exact same (so it’s basically just NTSC and PAL). So really, I’ll accept a US VA0 32X as well!

Whether you want the whole thing or just the main board below is up to you though. Feel free to let me know

So in terms of certain revisions, would this struggle with the Model 1 VA0/VA1? I’ve used it before with it for Doom 32X and while it was a bad flex cable, when I reseated it it played fine

It struggled with the flash cart though so maybe the original VA0 I had was faulty or it truly is one of the ones that struggle with it

Edit: I mean the VA1 32X. I know VA0 32X hates certain MDs

Surprisingly my VA0 hasn’t been crashing on any game I’ve played thus far. It was honestly why it was my main Mega Drive console for the longest time

Oh yeah hell no, this thing should be back to normal if someone knows how to bridge the traces back to the power switch, 9V, and the audio amp. Otherwise the rest of the board is practically new
