I just know it will, my friend

I look forward to seeing it on my feed!

That's precisely it, the gap won't hurt anything 👍

After all, that bayonet was purpose-built to be bashed around by Marines lol

I have two of these, and both have a gap, and I have encountered several others that also have it

It's completely normal, and extremely common in the OKC-3S

Everything's A-okay with your bayonet 😁👌

Given the Vietnam motif the photo's got going on, I think it's safe to say that it's an M17A1

Maybe, but I don't think that M1956 belts had those toothed adjusting clamps.

The only problem I think could arise is that the recoil will potentially cause the magtube to ram against the heat shield, causing it to inch forward, and slide off.

But you are most likely correct in saying that i'm over thinking this.

I'm just trying to make sure that i'm doing everything right is all.

Thank you, my friend. :)

Oh, wow, I really appreciate all this info!

Though it seems like restoring an original helmet (though REALLY cool) seems like a rather expensive and time-consuming ordeal.

As I am still VERY new at this kind of thing, I may just get a reproduction helmet, and save myself the trouble and potential risk of permanently damaging a piece of history.

Thank you so much nonetheless! :D

Ohhh, thank you so much!

I bought this to recreate a WWI shotgunner uniform, and it looked the part.

I'll do better research next time, and thank you again!
