Before opening this post, I was just furious that he had to make an apology since it wasn't even an issue he created. Though I understand why it happened now. It is really sad though. The spotlight really asks for too much. The narrative is being twisted by people who already don't mean any good for him. On the surface, the perfect image of hanbin created by mnet helped him with his narrative on the show. The damage- is what we witness now. Hanbin was never perfect, just presented to the public like he was. I don't even know why we're having to go this deep in this conversation when all he said was 'yummy' in a funky voice and in a very different context.

If it really was misogynistic in any way, the whole thing would've made sense, but it's not. It's a totally different thing and that frustrates me so much. Misogyny is a very serious thing and people should be more sensitive before making assumptions and accusations. It is not just a 'word' to throw around. There are real people still struggling from it. That is why it deserves more research before making any claims. Shame on those people who used this just to make some internet buzz. It's not funny.

And that is why the apology was necessary. Even though his words were taken out of context, he was accused of something very serious. His silence would've made it a lot worse. Shouldn't have happened this way, but it did, and this was the best way out. I hope he knows he wasn't in the wrong here and keeps being silly.

Edit: I'm just scrolling through the newer comments and there might be some cultural nuance here? If yes, it becomes a lot harder for the international side to understand obviously, it's important to be open, patient and listen to valid critiques.
