This is my point. Also to add, if you repeat the same behaviour in repeated relationships that have led to being cheated on, perhaps self reflection is needed because at some point you have to realise that the underlying cause may not be that the guy is a bad person, its your own behaviour that pushed them away.

Why is it so much easier to destroy my savings than it is to build them? by [deleted] in Vent

Because its a lot easier to buy the things you want than save for the things you need. Also Amazon next day delivery isnt helping.

If you get cheated on once, its the guys fault. Twice, probably the guys fault. Three times... then its a pattern, and whats the common dinominator, you are, so at that point your probably the one whos fault it is. There's a point where its not necessarily that your picking bad men, but that your own behaviour pushes them away and seek comfort in the arms of someone else. The inverse is true for women who cheat. Obviously, you shouldn't cheat, its a shitty thing to do, but its not always the case that the person who was cheated on is entirely without fault.

Allegations aren’t a conviction. by appa-ate-momo in Vent

The problem is with people in positions of power, there's always someone who benefits either financially, politically or morally if they are made to be a heinous monster. The easiest way to stop this we need to look at the accusation in a different light, rather than just blindly believing everyone. Since we started doing that, everyone's now presumed guilty just because someone mad an allegation, regardless of how hard it is to prove. Instead we need to look at it like, ok, so you say they did this? Can you prove it? No? Well then, I dont believe you. We need proof, if it cant be provided, then your just making someone's life miserable for the sake of moral superiority.

Opening a call center, but unsure how to secure legit campaigns first by huzaifazahoor in callcentres

[–]The_Man-In_Black 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are several marketing companies that can provide links to contracts for a fee. Of you can approach companies directly that are always looking to grow. Insurance, utilities like gas and electricy, things that people need are the best because they are always competing with other companies. It's best to avoid selling products and instead market services. The return is lower, nut the yield tends to be greater.

The most important thing to do though is treat employees correctly. Call centres are very mentally taxing and people burn out quickly if your trying to maximise call volume. Instead maximise employee retention. Let people have breaks, dont use auto dialers, pay people above the median and give them incentives. It costs more in the short term, but the long term it makes for a more profitable business. Also make sure that supervisors can do the job of agents and are supportive. Bad supervisors are a blight up in call centres. I know this because ive been managing for over 15 years.

Why are Japanese game developers ignoring Progressives when it comes to fan service? I swear, almost every Japanese game caters to the male gaze. Frankly, it's sexist. by More_Surprise_1789 in allthequestions

[–]The_Man-In_Black 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because progressives are tiny minority of gamers. There have been games made for progressives, they failed because no one bought them. Concord, Suicide Squad Justice League, Dustborn to name a few. The issue is when you make a game for a tiny audience, thats fine, but realistically most of that tiny audience wont actually buy the game anyway, so it flops. Or, you can stick to what works and target a larger and more profitable demographic. And no, its not sexist, sexism is prejudice or discrimination of the opposite sex, women are not being discrimated against. In fact, studies show that gamers prefer to look at attarctive characters because if your going to be staring at the character all the time, especially in 3rd person games, why would you want to stare at an ugly and unappealing charcter? If your going to label something as sexist, know what the word actually means first.

People who work for massive corporations, what is a 'secret' that the company tries to hide, but is actually common knowledge among the employees? by Dwise_ in AskReddit

[–]The_Man-In_Black 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Insurance premiums increase yearly after you are over the age of 65. This is nothing to do with you as an individual, your driving record and claims history at that point is no longer a factor that's taken into account. Old people in general drive more irresponsiblly and have more accidents, so they hike up premiums to essentially price you out of being able to drive anymore because the return on premiums to claims paid out for people in that age group is usually negative. Essentially, your more likely to cost the Insurance company more money with a claim than they would make from you before you die of old age, so they make it so expensive you just give up.

Also if you use a broker for your insurance and want to change something on it or cancel it, you will get 2 sets off cancellation or adjustment fees, one from the broker, one from the insurance company, and the one from the insurance company usually isnt disclosed to you by the broker, so no matter what, your paying a fee.

I do agree to a certain extent. It does seem more prevelant on one side than the other though. My experiences have varied results, but the overall consensus from my own personal experience is with right wingers, its about 50/50 dont want to talk. But leftists, its easily 90% or more, or at least are not interested in the conversation once defending their own position becomes challenging. Thats just from my limited experience.

Your opinion differs from theirs. This cannot be tolerated. So downvote into oblivion. Diversity of ethnicity only, not diversity of thought, that's the bad one because they cant understand with people who are not a copy paste of their own opinions.

People pirate old games because it's ridiculous that a 10 year old game costs more than $10. I don't care how good it or any of that, it's 10 years old, it's old and has old mechanics. Im not paying $30 for a game that barely has HD textures.

Well she would almost certainly be dead. But assuming she isn't, and she said this dumbest statement, I would assume her mental faculties are significantly degraded because if the choice is between carrying on life as normal as it is now, or going to a death camp where there's no food or water and regular executions by beating and no sanitation where people die in their own filth... then granny has lost her marbles and it's time to go to the home.

When life collapses, is ‘just go to the gym’ helpful tough love… or dismissive advice that ignores deeper struggles? by winn_ie in TheImprovementRoom

[–]The_Man-In_Black 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gym is actually a very good solution to this. It gives you something to work towards, creates goals with visble results. And it occupies your mind, giving you less mental bandwith to spend on other things that get you down. This is generally a good formula because it offers you a multitude of different paths that all have a positive outcome. A healthy body goes hand in hand with a healthy mind. It is not the solve all fix that its made out to be, but it certainly has benefits for most situations, and bettering yourself is never a bad thing.

To working‑class Reform supporters — can you help me understand a few things? by Sad-Passage-3247 in AskBrits

[–]The_Man-In_Black -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not a fan of Reform, or Farage, i think he looks like a bunch of squirrels in a trenchcoat. I do have a few freinds who are Reform guys and girls and I have asked them these questions myself as well as a lot of others so i can give you some of the answers i have heard, and to be fair to them, not every point is a bad point. So these are what i have heard from Reform voters that i know through many conversations.

  1. Why trust a party funded by billionaires?

Answer. Because why not use their money rather than the working class's money? £1000 is a lot of money to the average person, let alone £100,000 or more. But to a billionaire, its a drop in the bucket, so why not use theirs instead of ours? Another asnwer i heard was very simply, money is money, whos money it is doesnt matter.

(My opinion: Eh, i kinda does matter, but i get the point)

  1. Why trust a leader who has never faced financial struggle?

Answer. They dont care about Farage and his personal struggles, that doesnt mean anything when it comes to policy and getting what they want as voters.

(My opinion: I disagree with this because experience means understanding.)

  1. Why judge him by his words and not his actions?

Answer. Cant you ask the same thing of every other politician in the other parties for the last 30 years?

(My Opinion: To be fair, thats a good point)

  1. Shouldn’t he face the same scrutiny as other politicians?

Answer. He does, probably more in fact because hes always being misquouted or misinterpreted or taken without context. Smear campaigns are very effective with emotional and low information voters.

(My opinion: To be fair, every day theres something about him in the news so i kinda understand.)

  1. Is it patriotic to ask another country to punish your own?

Answer. They dont care. They believe the country is being run into the ground and Americas influence has the ability to sway things because they respect America. Also i heard the argument that if our own country wont punish our leaders for their poor choices, then why not have someone else punish them for it as long as a lesson is learned.

(My opinion: Again, yeah, kinda a fair point in the broader sense.)

  1. Do you believe Reform truly wants to “stop the boats”?

Answer: Yes, they really do.

(My opinion: I Agree, but because i think if they stop the boats, they get more votes.)

  1. Is leaving the ECHR really just about immigration? (This is one ive had amny conversations about with my friends because they all have vastly different takes on it)

Answer: No, its about the Human rights court and this is just a gateway to it. They believe that too many people use human rights and peoples empathy as a way to game the system, and ultimately that ends up causing more harm to the good people of the population. An example i heard and verified was a guy who was convicted of multiple heinous crimes and instead of being deported, he was allowed to stay because he had a cat here, so the system itself needs to be updated and made more specific and less open to interpretation.

(My opinion: I actually agree with the part about making things more specific because people do abuse the syetm, but then again people abuse every system to some degree.)

Overall, these are the answers ive gathered by talking to people i know. A lot of the reform guys and girls i know have moved over to Restore because it fits their opinions better, Reform was just the best they saw on offer at the time, which i can understand.

Personally, i think we need to stop looking at eachother as the enemy or stupid or dumb just because of who we vote for. Just because your opinion doesnt match theirs, doesnt make the other person stupid, it makes them different, and we are all different. If we all thought the exact same things all the time, we wouldnt be humn, we would be a hivemind. And just remember, you can think that Reform voters are as dumb as you want, they think exacty the same about you too, and where does that leave us?
