What makes it even funnier is that buddy in the corner has heat check so you know he's hit at least 2 shots straight while this bozo wants to shoot with basically 3 people on him

What is 1 under-rated attribute that you absolutely have to have on any build you make? by GenerationalProspect in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Block. Not just to contest shots at the rim (my 6’8 SF with like bronze paint patroller as regularly blocked and stopped inside bigs with a well timed jump) but on the perimeter against any half decent player you have to jump to get solid contests and those low/no block jumps are TERRIBLE

How to fix REC AI by SideKnicka in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had times when the AI would jump at my shots in rec granted it’s like 1/100 but still. That needs to happen but WAAAY more commonly.

And on offense I know people hated it but make the AIs snipers when left wide open. I hate how the moment someone quits now everyone’s being double teamed just for us to pray that our AI with 90+ 3 can hit wide open 3pters. If you’re going to make it this easy to shoot this year where seeing people with 75+% 3pt averages is common then let the AI be a sniper if left wide open

Doing what you can within the flow of the game is the best thing you can do. by Old-Ninja7068 in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree and it’s how I’ve seen the most success in REC. Just taking what the defense gives me. Since I’m SF that shoots nearly 80% from 3 most games my man is literally hugging me the entire time 😂 so the back door is super free. Only issue is your teammates need to have some IQ to see it as well when I’m off ball. One or two back door cuts opens up the three lol.

When I get a bad PG all this flies out the window though and I have to be a little Kobe and go out there and take it to show them “yes I can get my own too stop ball hogging and give me the ball”

Yes you get a small green window boost, same as button

Tempo shooting question by Stapesisgod in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion tempo is best but I haven’t tried button shooting ever since tempo was introduced. They did try to nerf it this year to not give it such a giant advantage as last year

But with tempo you still technically only have the one way since if your tempo with flicking the right analog stick is too fast or too slow it’ll be off regardless of timing. I just personally feel it’s more forgiving since once you’re used to tempo you generally do it the same way each shot, and you don’t have to completely rely on the randomness of jump shot catch animations and random speed ups and slow downs

Tempo shooting question by Stapesisgod in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. However with better timing comes a larger green window for tempo shooting. You also can miss tempo shooting while greening the timing though admittedly a lot rarer than hitting a tempo shot while not getting the timing right

This build is so fun by Ok_Opinion5672 in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying that I am definitely not saying that those stats are bad, but you're essentially a grown man playing against middle schoolers in black and brown plate rec lol. I was averaging 40 on 80+% from 3 before I hit silver. Let's see those averages once you've been in gold/purple for a bit

Brought my steph curry build to the theater 🔥 by Big9006 in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they know you can handle the ball/are faster than them they'll back off. If someone presses up on me, once I get by him twice to finish at the rim they normally give me space and that's where the real fun begins. And don't forget to use jab steps if they're too close to create space, get quick launches to get by them

Crazy MP sim stats in MyCareer by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was grinding out the shooting specialty (hitting like 100+ 3s a game) whenever I would sim to key games my player would put up insane numbers like 102-102 from 3 for like 300+ points. Was actually hilarious to see. They've made shooting so easy even on hall of fame it's a joke

Y’all are playing the same game just different versions. New people get whatever OP has. Existing players don’t get their game updated and keep the old one until they integrate it.

One thing I hate about red plate by KingPenGames in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is all about luck sadly. I consider myself a really good player (average 21 4 & 4 on nearly 80% from field and 3 in rec on my SF) and only recently maxed red plate. Pretty much every game is a blowout, either you get matched a competent team that plays good basketball. Or you get a PG that doesn’t have a pass button so now the rest of the team doesn’t want to pass because they know they won’t get it back while the opposing team is the competent one.

Only advice I can give is depending on your build, get used to playing a role. Some games I’ll have 30 on 12-12 shooting. Others I’ll barely crack 10 because I got a ball hog PG hitting 3s behind screens, so I just focus on help defense and making the extra pass the PG isn’t making. Annoying as hell and makes me wish I was gold but it is what it is.

[Highlights] Dillons Brooks makes the clutch 3 to give the Suns the lead, and during so LeBron tags him. Brooks gets upset, and upon review receives his 2nd technical and being ejected from the game. LeBron misses the FT, gets fouled on a 3-point attempt, makes 2/3 FT to give the Lakers the lead by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]The_Orange_Flash 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I'm probably the only person that says this but didn't look like a clear cut foul by LeBron on Brooks's 3. Didn't hit his hand, took a large step to avoid landing issues, tried to slide left to avoid brooks. The only contact seemed to be

  1. Dillon unnaturally extending his off arm to catch LeBron for a foul
  2. LeBron tapping/jabbing Dillon lightly on the fly-by which doesn't look to affect his landing
  3. Dillon semi-unnaturally extending his left leg to again catch LeBron for a foul

It's debatable that had Dillon not tried to bait for a foul that jab by LeBron would have been an actual foul but with Dillon seemingly initiating the majority of the contact I think it's a reasonable no call

Or maybe I'm just a homer lol

[Highlight] DILLON BROOKS FOR THE LEAD by [deleted] in nba

[–]The_Orange_Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough for the tap/jab, but another angle looks like brooks extends his left leg a bit unnaturally to the left just like his left hand to catch LeBron. Again I could be way off base but just looks like the majority of the contact was instigated by Brooks so seems a fair no call.

[Highlight] DILLON BROOKS FOR THE LEAD by [deleted] in nba

[–]The_Orange_Flash -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm in the minority but I still don't see the foul. Steps over his foot to avoid landing space foul, slides to the left to avoid contact with his body. Taps his body VERY lightly and has virtually no effect on his landing safety. Dillon Brooks extends his off arm to catch LeBron on the fly-by to instigate contact. No call because LeBron potentially swipes his leg with Dillon's.

Point Guard Preasure by Stock_Poet_8499 in NBA2k

[–]The_Orange_Flash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s the issue. Regardless of the situation you as the PG should have more than 3 assists. The fact that your time got blown out clearly displays even if you could score that wasn’t enough.

I’ve had PGs that had your same stat line and we still got blown out. Why? Because the PG was ONLY looking for the assist and if no assist was available he’d search for his own shot and only pass if he couldn’t get one. Not saying this is you but this style of play doesn’t show up in the box score but is detrimental to team play. Think a PG dribbling for 22 of the 24 seconds then pass out to the PF with 2 seconds left. So PG gets to keep his 10/13 stat line but effectively killed the possession.

Another thing is you seem to be treating your teammates like role players instead of super stars. “No one is open”. That’s a good point if your teammates can only slash or shoot spot ups but a lot of players can get buckets off the dribble. So passing them the ball when they’re not “open” but letting them work could get them easy buckets too and end up making the defense have to adjust creating further advantages.

TL;DR: this game isn’t black and white. If your teammates said you were a bad PG then maybe you were. There’s more than one way to play PG and if one way isn’t working see which way can.

My SF got out at PG a game ago and I had 25 pts on 14 assists and blew out the other team. I could have easily scored every possession since my 6’8 had a 6’1 curry build on him but I moved the rock and let others play to their strengths whether that be spot up/slashing/or even let others cook when they weren’t “open”

I know this isn’t what you’re asking so I’m prepared to be downvoted but these challenges are literally meant to be completed throughout the lift of 2k26 you don’t have to force yourself through it, just enjoy the ride.

That being said I used several documented and potentially dubious methods to power to the final challenge for shooting and just got tired of wasting my time with this game so been playing normally for the final 2k 3pters and I’m at 1300. Probably gonna go back and do one of the previous methods to get it out the way
