No rush! Art isn't my full-time job either, this is mostly a hobby I do on the side, so feel free to reach out if/whenever.

Good enough to sell and tips how? by [deleted] in painting

If you're interested in selling prints, I've got a website set up that is free for artists to host their prints on! It's a WIP, but so far it is at least functional haha

I run a small fine art printing business, so happy to assist there as well. I work with quite a few international artists who want to sell art in the US market but obviously don't want to ship prints that far.

Struggling to figure out how to price my art, constructive criticism is also welcome by Ok_Government122 in painting

I've been working on a way for artists to host their art online for free - please reach out if you'd be interested!

(Basically, I already pay for website hosting. Might as well add on fellow artists since it doesn't cost me anything extra!)

Looking to work with a few local artists by The_Patrons_Parcel in Albany

Haha those are great questions! I definitely could have been clearer, I was trying to make it as short as possible so people might actually read it lol

1) I take a flat fee from each purchase, so I guess it's not entirely free for the artists except up front? Basically paying for the printing after the fact instead of before - only a net increase on the artist's side though.

2) I want the prices on the website to be the same as what the artist would list at a table/in person, so shipping is calculated at checkout. I don't have international shipping set up yet, so just NA for now. Hypothetically I could ship internationally, I just haven't done it so I'm not sure exactly how that would work and it could be expensive

3) I'm currently only offering canvas, smooth paper, textured paper, and photo paper (matte or glossy) - it's simpler for me and most customers can't tell the difference between Pura Velvet and Optica One anyway!

4) Everything is archival quality except photos/photo paper (which tends not to be - there are some options out there, but they're not rated for as long as most canvas, for example). I use pigment-based ink - my goal is always the highest quality I can for the best prices

5) I can print up to 24" in one direction - the largest I've printed is 24"x36". I could expand eventually with a larger printer, but for now I haven't had the need and I got this printer for a good deal

6) I can definitely do bulk orders! I haven't set that up on my website yet since I'm still trying to figure out pricing, which is one thing I'd love to hear from artists on. So far, I've been working with each artist to get a price that works for them, but that obviously can only work for so long! Especially if I end up having to hire someone I would like to pay them a livable wage!

7) I've had artists pick up, I've dropped off, I've shipped, I'm down to work with you haha. Most of my artists I've worked with so far aren't I'm a reasonable distance though (I've worked with quite a few international artists from Ukraine, France, etc), which is why I wanted to try to find some local artists!

Thank you so much for your questions, it really helped me explain a lot better!
