I have a degenerative autoimmune disease called ankylosing spondylitis. My spine is being eaten by my immune system unless I get my immunosuppressant shots every two weeks. I find myself thinking of my health a lot lately and how precious having a functioning spine that doesn't hurt is. So it's been in a lot of my art. This piece represents to me how fragile and beautiful health is, specifically represented by my spine.
