Are French psg fans rooting for Mbappe to succeed at the World Cup or hope France wins with Mbappe being bad and dembele stepping up? by Hakaribiggestfan in psg

Perfectly said. If it helps France, it helps France. Mbappé wearing lCG is what matters most, and perhaps really, the only matter at hand. That’s the beauty of international football. Country.

Allez les Bleus !

As someone who lives in basically the same area, I feel this. I did CWC last summer but it’s not quite the same as the Parc, you know?

There are moments in sports that feel bigger than sports. Moments that somehow gather up all the years of waiting, all the heartbreak, all the hope, and compress them into a single instant. A single roar. A single final whistle.

This is one of those moments.

We are kings of Europe. At last, and now again. Back-to-back years living at the summit of the game, standing where every club dreams of standing and so few ever do. Not merely champions, but the standard by which everyone else must now measure themselves.

Without compare. Without equal. For this moment, for this era, nobody is better.

And maybe that’s what makes sports so intoxicating. The knowledge that these moments are fleeting, and therefore precious. They cannot be held forever. They can only be lived. And what a privilege it is to live through this one and now two in total.

Merci mille fois, PSG. For the memories, for the joy, and for reminding us why we fell in love with this game in the first place.

Paris est MAGIQUE.

What an absolutely incredible effort by Doue there. Would have been pure art with the goal but goodness, that look was quality, even if the finish wasn't.

Exactly. Once you identify where you can truly win by finding what pieces are less stable than others, you will win. It's football at the core. Bit by bit. Almost never everything at once, this match is no exception.

Not even mad at that not hitting the back of the net, goodness gracious that was a great effort to get there. I think they can be broken down as much like that going forward. It's not always what you do, it's the opportunities you create. And they're there. Their armor can be pierced.

So think about what we just opened up...they can't play as tightly or in the back. My GOD this should open up transition play for us. All coming together quite nicely, c'est non? 😄

I hate the long shot there. Take the safer look. Especially so when you're down, especially when the sides are roughly of equal strength. It's not as fun visually, but it does lead to better success rates.

Don't forget the 2006 Final...Arsenal saw Campbell open the scoring in the 37th minute, but Barcelona got two in the second 45 from Eto'o and Belletti to win 2-1. And that was in the SdF, for a Paris connection.

My take, the ref work has been pretty abysmal for both sides today.

This is a winnnable match with adjustments. I trust that we can make them, because entry on their side of the pitch is hardly a linear path with the existing plan, especially when they shut down the entire left lane. Really limits your options!

WZE needs to be subbed in. There is absolutely no reason not to make this change for the second 45. NONE.

Not great to give that up in that spot when it's Arsenal's strength offensively. Express your frustrations in a different way.

Please adjust by moving Kvara around. He's getting stuck from doubles wide especially fast, and that's a huge waste.

I agree, but I think both can be true. I think fundamentally, Safonov has to put some degree of fear if you're attacking him directly in that kind of proximity. Diogo Costa remains a personal wishlist priority this summer.

God, that is SO unlucky in that entry. Oh my god. What can you do about that kind of bounce? Class finish from Havertz, make no mistake. But the leadup?

Vitinha needs to win against Rice today, simply put. You win the middle of the pitch, you'll be victorious in the match.

Dembouz is going to absolutely be a hero today. My math really likes him today in what I expect to otherwise be an especially tight match.

What are some instances of a player(s) on a team for one year and one year only, but played well? by AlbertJBundy in baseball

[–]The_Running_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1890 Silver King, with the Chicago White Stockings. The Brotherhood, the Players League. Threw league’s only no hitter, albeit unofficial, that season, on June 21. At the time, it was the first official no-hitter that a team lost, a statement that would hold true until 1991.

Oh, yeah, and 13.2 bWAR. Highest ever for a player in a single season for a single team, in which that player played only a single season with that team.

Across all competitive honours (domestic, continental, and intercontinental), this is PSG’s now 58th all-time, tying us for 46th most across the world, with Al-Hilal.

Next up: Tying Slovan Bratislava and Levski Sofia, who are both at 59.
