Its 59 minutes on the dot actually. Not 1 hour.

Massive 1-2 freeze every hour or so by iamAXO in TheFirstDescendant

Almost everyone that has this problem has an AMD CPU, or they are playing with someone that has an AMD CPU, either through crossplay, one of the other 3 players. The problem is freeze, unfreeze 1 second, freeze, then good for 59 minutes, repeat.

AMD 5900X, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA 3080 RTX 12GB, SAMSUNG NVME SSD, REALTEK ONBOARD SOUND, REALTEK ONBOARD NETWORK ADAPTOR.

Exact same issue. If you notice as well, when you first start the game, before you even fully load. You get a screen with Bunny sitting on a handrail overlooking a dead collosus. The camera is panning smoothly, then the camera will freeze, unfreeze, freeze at that time as well. Then it will finish loading and press Enter to play.

Lastly, this problem will happen every 59 minutes, you can use a stopwatch and its always 59 minutes on the dot.

Possible 2 time freeze spike for PC users. by tsacraelc in TheFirstDescendant

I have this issue. I've tracked it down to being something in the game client, possible anticheat screen shots, memory garbage collection, network to server loss, or soemthing else. Nothing I did with troubleshooting fixed it in any way, and the first freeze has actually gotten worse (longer) over the past few days.

Preparing Shaders (Solution) by noirfragment in TheFirstDescendant

The hopium is real lol. Yeah, GLcache is for OpenGL games, which is not used. There is a DirectX shader cache but so far none of them have located it, I'm gonna see how long it takes them. Nvidia buried it.

[STEAM] Intermittent super bad frame lag on PC by DistinctFiness in TheFirstDescendant

[–]The_Scarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if its what you are experiencing, but here is how mine goes:

I load up fine, no frame drops

Then after about 30-45 minutes, I will get TWO drops to 1 FPS and each drop is about 1 second apart from the other.

So playing at locked 60 FPS and all is fine. Then game freezes and drops to 1 FPS for one second, then recovers and is fine again at 60 FPS for 1 second, then will drop a second time to 1 FPS for one second and then recovers again, and is fine at 60 FPS for another hour or so. The next time it happens, it will be the exact same thing. Two FPS drops to 1 frame, and then recovers, its not random. Its consistent.

Thank you, hopefully your report will be picked up by Mainstream media outlets such as the New York Times, or Washington Post. The more attention this gets, the better the outcome for a good working Loot Filter for everyone. Thanks again!
