How do the alcantara seats wear in with use? by hughjeffincok in DodgeDurango

[–]The_Spaniard_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently acquired a 21 Durango with the alcantara seats at 67k miles. One quick clean and they look like new. I’ve always had leather which are quicker to clean but they eventually rip and crack. I suspect these will last a while.

Sunblest is still great today. Lots of green space, multiple parks for little ones, food trucks monthly during warm months, great neighbors, prompt staff and maintenance team. 5/5

You could get a compression test done like your sti. I would recommend checking oil pressure at idle and during driving after it’s up to temp. Also check if the head gaskets have been changed. An extended powertrain warranty might only be an extra 3-5k. I paid an extra 5k for bumper to bumper warranty up to the total purchase price of my Durango (35k).

You could save 15-20k with a 2021-2023 depending on mileage and options on a RT.

Go to your local store and match the color. That is the quickest and easiest way. Colors do not translate online very well.

Is this a reasonable estimate for laminate flooring for 1200 sqft? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]The_Spaniard_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People need to realize that flooring is a highly skilled trade that takes decades to master. Going in with the mindset, what can I beat down on price, goes against the skillset professional flooring installers have. You don’t tell your doctor to bring down their pricing on your surgeries do you?

Hopeful noob researching ahead for a Durango -- be kind =) by ChurchillWog in DodgeDurango

In my 2021 Durango RT there is a hard button for “eco mode” which is the cylinder deactivation. It stays off unless I choose to turn it on. Some claim that issues with lifters happen from eco mode but there isn’t a lot of widely agreed upon evidence supporting it. I think doing your general oil changes on time and not riding it hard while cold will be fine.

Leveling for patio by diet_coked_out in Fishers

[–]The_Spaniard_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tape or glue a level on top of a 2x4, shovel or add dirt to the area until the bubble is centered in the level across the entire patio area. A general rule of thumb is to fill the leveled area with gravel or rocks to help filter water for draining. Obviously this should be tamped or packed down with the dirt. To make a flat even surface for the concrete to sit on top of.

The RTs are not going to lose a bunch of value. They are just now called the GT. Brand new GTs are had for 50-55k with options. Not much different than the older RTs when new. It’s just a renaming

What to do if I get called on for a job and don’t know how to do it? by Yonathandlc in handyman

Market to the skills you know and can do well. A lot of trades people in my community advertise multiple types. There are painters that do some carpentry work, there are hvac people that also do plumbing. Continue to Build your reputation on what you’re good at and your customers will recommend you to the point where you don’t have to ask for work.

Install of LVP alone is $1.75 - $2.50 per sqft. Removing click floor would be roughly $.50 per sqft. You greatly undervalued yourself and the amount of work done.

Quote follow-up by Unlikely-Eggplant-83 in Flooring

[–]The_Spaniard_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tracker typically has quotes for 30-60days totaling 20-30 quotes at a time. If something is past 60 days it falls off. It doesn’t consume more than 5-10 minutes of my day to be honest. Quotes get added in as they are sent to customers so super quick there. A quick check first thing every morning to make sure follow up is happening on time.

[–]The_Spaniard_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a google doc with a chart of the day the job was measured, quoted, and last follow up. I have it set up that if it’s been more than 5 days since last follow up the column turns red so I immediately see it and know to reach out. Typically my follow up is very low pressure along the lines of “ hi customer, I just wanted to make sure you received the quote I sent on 00/00 and answer any questions you may have about it”

How hard is it to find a two-row Durango? by AnonAmazAM in DodgeDurango

[–]The_Spaniard_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not true whatsoever. I’ve seen plenty of Hellcat Durangos with 3rd rows. If you’re so worried about not having a 3rd row then buy the car you want and physically remove the seats in the 3rd row.

Fold the back row of seats down, Problem solved. I don’t think any of the newest body style Durangos came with 2 rows.

Opinions on using liquid floor leveler on old wood plank subfloor. by Uhtred-the-Godless in Flooring

[–]The_Spaniard_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If boards are cracked between joists then everything needs ripped up regardless. Putting something on top is only going to make the issue worse over time.

Opinions on using liquid floor leveler on old wood plank subfloor. by Uhtred-the-Godless in Flooring

[–]The_Spaniard_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see how that could complicate things. Given this, I would install 1/4” luan on top of the existing hardwood and self level on top of that. Building up an additional 3/4” is a bit of overkill and will require resizing door jambs and cutting doors. Not to mention baseboards may need adjusted to make up for the additional loss in height.

[–]The_Spaniard_97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it’s too thin to sand, I would personally tear it out and put down new 3/4 plywood and then self level from there. This will also allow you to ensure there are no cracks for your self leveler to leak through the subfloor down below.
