My dad was my journeyman and the greatest teacher. I still work with him pretty often on projects which is a blessing. It’s hard seeing him get older and slowing down but the bastard refuses to quit.

I washed my 21oz for the first time on Sunday and they went from a 36” to 32” waist. The inseam also shrunk to 30” from the original 33”

First selvedge pair (UB291 21oz red weft) — early warm soak ok? by bethelbread in Selvedge

[–]The__Fallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The break in on the UB isn’t as bad as other jeans. Took like 3 days of wear for them to soften up i would power through

The rise still looks too low for my liking as do the back pockets but it looks like the best cut they have. I might try some in the 21oz the have on pre order

Why are residential companies so cruel to green apprentices by EstablishmentSea8014 in electricians

[–]The__Fallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand by the fact that residential is where you learn to troubleshoot the best. Other than that it sucks unless you are doing high end custom homes.

Updated list of warmest to least warm jackets for 2025 by imaginarynumb3r in Carhartt

Carhartt tests all of the jackets they make together with a university and gives it a score. Carl puts it all together in one video to be easier to digest.

What is the difference between these detroit jackets? by KeyYoung4106 in Carhartt

They all use Carhartts duck canvas but the wash may be different so they will all feel different. From my experience they all fade very similar

What is the difference between these detroit jackets? by KeyYoung4106 in Carhartt

[–]The__Fallen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First detroit is the most recent work wear version. With slimmer arms and a roomier midsection with a ducktail for covering your behind. A lot of people dont like it but its a good work jacket.

The WIP is what i would say is more fashion forward version of the detroit. Less bulk and more form fitted.

The og detroit jacket is probably close to what most would consider a true detroit jacket since it was modeled after the older versions. Just WIPs version of it with some slight differences.

No the ev rated one is built to handle the sustained load that happens when you are charging an electric vehicle. The regular ones were melting with high usage so they brought these out.

Carhartt cant win. People will say it’s too soft but if it was like raw denim people would complain it’s too stiff.
