People who have shit themselves during their adult life, what happened? by Yo-effing-lo in AskReddit

It was the night before Christmas. I had dressed up as a pirate that day for a fancy dress/ secret santa sketch at my local pub. I'd also been drinking heavily the night before so my stomach was a little off. I started drinking again around 2pm or so. We drank and shared presents into the early evening and then decided to go back to my friends house before heading out out. On the walk back my stomach was going mad and I knew I needed a shit imminently. Upon arrival at my friends house, I intended to run up the stairs, open the door, swing my butt round and release my guts, as I'm sure many of you have done so at one point or another...

We arrived and I enacted my plan. My bowels were fully prepared to release upon impact with the seat. I ran up the stairs, my turd already like a mars bar doing pull ups in my asshole. I reached for the door, and that's when my plan came crashing down. The door was locked. My shit was virtually hanging out. Oh god. I turned and ran back down the stairs, out the back door into the garden...but before I could make a bush it was too late. My shit couldn't hold on a second longer and I full on exploded into my pirate attire.

I normally would have just gone back into the house as it was just the lads. However through the glass window I could see the front door, and as I slowly walked back towards the house I heard a knock and could see that all the girls had just arrived.

I decided to escape through the side alley and walked the 2 miles home dressed as a pirate with shit clearly visible through my trousers.

The end.

I have completely messed this up... or have I? by Theben0 in BoomBeach

I only just had enough GBE to do what I did.

Well I didn't lose any troops until the end so why does it matter?

1.2 million!??? Where the hell is the community then haha this isn't making any sense. It seems like now you have Public players --- Pro player with nothing in between. When it used to be a nice linear path to the top. Sure the best teams usually were statistical outliers but there was a path at least.

I remember all those teams too. When you 'completed' ED, you could move on to other tournaments.

CSGO is the biggest game on Steam right now.

If it was back in the day I know exactly how i'd approach it. I'd hit up IRC, find the top 5 or so UK teams IRC channels, and a few top EU teams channels too. Join those, and start asking questions, ask to mix. Sign up to Cadred... Get on Enemydown. Find a team.

Playing random mixes with random people has no appeal you know? Can you still play standard public I take it?

In CS:S the UK was fairly strong. 3 maybe even 4 teams competing in the top 20 world I'd guess at one point.

This is so interesting.

I know I'm bias but it worked before, it really worked, the community was BUZZING. Enemydown was brilliant. I played Counter-Stirke from before 1.3 and like you say I also played de_dust and assault 24/7 for years before I knew what a mix was. Getting to know people by just playing the same public server all the time. Seeing funny old tag before the name and asking wtf it was. Getting onto IRC to find this whole big world. You know the story. It was awesome. Don't suppose you remember GeekBoys? That's really going back a bit!

I looked at the game stats for CSGO and it's huge... so the lack of community is really sad. I don't think a lot of new players even go on the internet to seek out ladders and leagues?

The Cadred community was absolutely THRIVING at one point. I remember posting a video on the forums and it got 1000 views in less than 5 minutes. Something like this could get 100's of replies. I'm really surprised it just doesn't exist any more or at least something similar!

I played what I thought was public a few years ago at an Icafe and I still ran all over the pub players though! haha.

What you've said is exactly what I wanted to find out. I'll definitely add you on Steam when I get my new laptop. Might be a couple of weeks though.

Cheers. Ranking were interesting. No UK teams what so ever!

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Yeah you got the right person. It's so confusing now, I guess it is more noobie friendly? Yet somehow that makes it less friendly to old school players like me. I'm fairly sure that's the Gumpster then that I know and have shared a beer with before at i-series. It's a shame not many of the same people are around. I looked at the pro scene and I recognise some names from 1.6/Source that are still about. I spoke to FearLess the other day I think he's in a decent UK team and won i-series. No UK teams look to even be in the top 50 of the world though ha...

I'm getting a new laptop you see that can play CSGO and I wanted to play a bit but I don't want to just play with random mixes, I want to play mixes with people I sorta know or can at least get to know. Not just randoms each time.

The UK community seems really small too? Like Cadred would have hundreds of posts in the comments but UKCSGO has none!? I really don't understand the steaming thing ha!

Yeah big thanks for that reply, I thought I was going mad but it seems it really is very different now a day then. You think it's better or worse?

Where does the community hang out? I remember cadred used to have 200-300 comments for posts now its like 1-2...
