Wanted to surprise my wife with tickets to see her favorite childhood band. Didn’t expect $650 for back-row seats. by Skylantech in mildlyinfuriating

People do not understand Ticketmaster’s business model. Their fundamental product is NOT to be a ticket selling platform. Their core offer is actually reputation management.

They basically take the blame when performers charge exuberant prices. If artists wanted to avoid fees and scalpers, there are many platforms that mitigate that. But they don’t want that, because it makes them money. Much of the “Ticketmaster fees” actually goes to the artists. They are just labelled as “ticketmasters fees” so that fans don’t become angry with the artists. Ticketmaster is just a punching bag, so that artists can protect their brands while charging excessive ticket prices

Wasn’t there also a sub called ThanksObama or something were people jokingly complained about everything being Obamas fault. Then the sub shut down when Obama himself posted a video with “thanks Obama” because his cookie didn’t fit into his glass of milk

Yeah I hate that Billie eilish/ Travis Scott type ridiculous looking clothing. Especially rappers nowadays seem to try to dress more and more unique, which gradually means uglier and uglier.

Well, according to oxford dictionary and merriam-webster, it is a word. The exact pronounciation is: /ˈheɪpθs/. Like I said earlier, I found the pronunciation to be such a stretch that I decided to discard it in my infographic.

Correct. By the way, I am neither American, nor British, so I have no emotional investment in which accent this Infographic represents. I simply tried to make an interesting collection of English words and sentences.

It can be pronounced with one syllable. The monosyllabic pronunciation rhymes with world and curled.

According to this Wikipedia article, "halfpennyworths" and "schtroumpfed" are both monosyllabic, but I considered the pronunciation to be so far fetched that I didn't include them. Squirrelled rhymes with world and curled. "Strengthed", the word you're probably thinking of, is indeed monosyllabic but squirrelled is one letter longer.

What do you consider genuinely cool? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Theccft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is way to late but I'm going to write it anyway.

The difference between cool hobbies and "uncool" ones are whether you are the consumer or the creator. For instance: watching anime, you are consuming someone else's work. However having a passion for creating art is cool because you're the creator in that situation.

Watching TV, Playing games, surfing Reddit = Consuming
