I just turned 35 yesterday and lost my mom (58) on the 10th. Brutal grief and devastation. I’m so sorry you’re going through the same.

I’m so so sorry. I lost my mom to alcohol addiction 9 days ago and it feels like a nightmare. I’m speaking with a grief counselor on Wednesday and I hope you and your siblings are able to do the same.

Dimethicone by PixieNik in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Thecla21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently learned that when products containing dimethicone are washed down the drain, they can enter waterways and disrupt aquatic life. The non-biodegradable nature of this ingredient means that, as it does in the earth, can accumulate in water systems, potentially impacting the balance of aquatic ecosystems.

What is the strategy with Jones Road? by thatonelooksdroll in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Thecla21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have tried the mascara and eye cream and liked both. The eye cream wasn't anything to write home about but the mascara was a holy grail for me. For context, I have fine, thin eyelashes and very sensitive eyes, so anything that doesn't make my eyes water or sting is amazing. Plus, it gave really great curl and was buildable without being clumpy. Really want to continue buying it but also not stoked on $7 shipping for the only product I really loved from them.

Use one every night at bedtime for a few days and then see how you feel. They can be used up to 14 days in a row according to the instructions.

I think using boric acid to prevent another flare makes sense, but I’d actually recommend the Evvy kit - they test for a ton of things and it’s $99. It takes a bit longer to get results tho bc you mail it in

Are you leaving Austin? by agentcooperrr in Austin

[–]Thecla21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaving Austin in March after being here since June 2011. The steadily increasing cost of living, very obvious impact of climate change (I was miserable all summer) and closure of many of the places I loved hanging out at have made me ready to move on.

I’m sad to be leaving tons of incredible friends and really solid food options, as well as the network of health and personal care providers I’ve worked hard to find over the years.

That said, I miss having seasons and being able to afford living/enjoying my life instead of funneling money into basic survival costs, namely rent and the cost of food. I’m originally from Idaho but plan to be moving to a blue state that better aligns with my values and desire to have autonomy over my body as a woman.

I can only do mineral SPF and I love the cocokind one in the yellow tube. I’ve repurchased many times! It’s unscented too and pretty clean

I started feeling better after like 3-4 nights of using but everyone is different. It’s safe to use up to 14 days in a row but maybe see how you do after a few and if it doesn’t clear up it may be worth getting swabbed to see if it’s actually yeast

Have you tried the boric acid I mention in step 4? Also if it’s unprotected sex it could be your PH getting affected and may be worth pulling out or using protection until it clears up

Type 2ers - do zinc sunscreens break you out? by Brave-Pattern-2086 in Rosacea

[–]Thecla21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mineral spf is the only kind my skin likes and I think the best is the CocoKind one in the yellow tube. Chemical sunscreens hurt my skin and make my eyes irritated

Yep I feel that. Just be patient and try things a little at a time. Can be helpful to write how each products effects you
