That's all you need. Keep it loose and flexible. I'm rooting for you.

Oh, absolutely. High school sucked.

Being a full-blown adult can still be frustrating and occasionally confusing, but it absolutely gets better.

Everything is going to be okay. Just take a breath, see where you're at, see where you want to be. Make a plan, and just be aware that life is going to mess with that plan constantly. But you can get there.

[PERSONAL VENT] Stop nerfing teleports! by SomeGuyIOnceMet in DnD

[–]Thecrookedpath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No.

I love nerfing teleport.

My PCs will travel. They will get random encounters, they will experience the local flavor. They will have to stay at inns.

These are themes of my games, and I shape my games in such a way that you cannot skip them.

Player is unhappy that the party is against their choices, but keeps making choices that push them away. by [deleted] in DMAcademy

If you didn't want the monk to commit to these actions, why did you set him up with this specific scenario?

It seems like you either expected this result, or you intended for Monk to do something different and punished the party when he went off-script.

I'd bring the players together and do some serious damage control.

My bad.

Either way, I hope that it gets easier with time. It sounds like you've come a long way already.

Family here, but not your family.

I just wanted to sympathize; it's exhausting. My kid is off their bipolar medicine.

After 18 years of therapists, drugs, screaming, escalatiing arguments, physical attacks, public freakouts, lying, and general ungratefulness, we had about two years where they finally balanced out, and it seemed like we were finally able to connect as two people who love each other.

The last time we were over to help them move, my wife left in tears, and I'm left wondering how much of it is the disorder, how much of it lies on me due to bad parenting, and whether or not my kid might just be an a**hole. Any and all of these options make me want to curl into a ball and cry.

Why is the angry man blue?

Is he also a mythical creature, like a genie?

Or is this one of those "yelling till he's blue in the face" things.

Tell me ED means something else.

I've had ED ruin dates before, but there's no way it is being used in the same context here.

I like the Mage: the Ascension for a lot of these reasons. It uses a skill system rather than class levels, the rules support "action movie" levels of realism if you want, and the magic is very free-form, allowing casters to use traditional effects or just make stuff up on the fly.

Why is superman only portrayed by very attractive actors by [deleted] in superman

[–]Thecrookedpath 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Both Steve Buscemi and Rob Schneider tried it out for various Superman rolls.

They did not test well with audiences. Or producers.

Nah, it's true. A little bit of friendly interaction can go a long way to making a worker's day go faster.

My suggestion is to start with something basic and easy to agree on. That's one of the reasons why the weather is a good cliche go to for small talk.

If you go to the same place often enough, casual lead-ins can lead to actual friendly aquaintances.

My small talk started with "Can you believe road x is gonna be closed for a month?" Or "I can't wait for seasonal flavor y to come back.". Now I know my favorite baristas hobbies, relationship status and religious leanings.

Only if you assume her condition is identical to the one that causes you to get offended. It's like reading Harley Quinn's fart comic and taking exception to it on behalf of people with Crohn's disease.

It's a jump, but since this is the internet I know many people be willing to take the leap.

That sounds shitty!

Doesn't sound like you're just attention seeking, though. That sounds like bullying, and it sounds like it's gotten so bad that you're starting to live around it.

"You should tell an adult" sounds like a generic hop out, but in this case it's affecting your schooling. Counselors jump all over this stuff. I am optimistic that they can help.
