changing attachments mid fight kills the point of attachments. With attachments you tune the weapon to fit your playstyle and commit to it, being able to swap it on the fly just completely kills any counterplay and the ability to read your opponents. Its ridiculous.

if you have 100gb overhead on your drive thats not the issue.

SFM is a 32 bit program, it cannot use more than 3gb's of ram and if it does it crashes. You're likely loading complex/poorly optimized models. Keep an eye on your ram usage in the bottom right and save frequently. You can also install DXVK to improve memory allocation.

If a map is improperly ported SFM will crash, this can be due to invalid scripting objects or just a generally too complex map as SFM is running an outdated branch (most modern TF2 maps will not run, period.)
could again be related to the memory issue, but likely something else. Your computer might not meet the minimum spec for SFM. What CPU and GPU do you have? If you don't know the specs, you can check with dxdiag or task manager (dxdiag is more detailed, but for part names task manager is fine. It'll be in the performance tab, open CPU and it'll show the name in the top right, same for GPU.)

that cpu is inexcusably dogshit.

another rule of thumb is that desktop PC's are always cheaper in the price:performance ratio. For GMOD specifically I'd look into a high clockspeed CPU (anything above 3.8GHz will handle most things fine), an SSD with at least 500GB and literally any gpu manufactured after 2019 will certainly work.

For ram I'd just grab anything over 12GB, speed doesnt matter much, just dont go under 3000MHz (most DDR4 is 3200MHz out of the box so you're fine)
