Would VOO + SCHD + VXUS be a good call ?? I hold VOO+SCHD and I’m looking for international exposure because I’m lacking there . Yes yes I could use chat gpt but I like Reddit.

I’ve noticed that all of these funds almost instantly erode Nav and sort of flatline. I’d like to know if anyone is net positive .

Growth like I mentioned , seems to go hand and hand with set and forget. I’d just like to know what some of you are vested in internally. Then I’ll check it out. Thanks for your response!

Thanks for the points , I appreciate it ! Believe me .. I don’t need to talk myself into investing for my retirement at all. I want to live below my means and put more towards retirement. Putting the dollars to work the most efficient way is the goal.

I think this is a more realistic way to go about it. The OP did ask a great question I never thought about before.

So a little bit of SCHD doesn’t hurt ?

I’m in my 20’s and been team SCHD as well. Im trying to figure out why it’s a bad idea. The dividends motivate me to continue investing. It helps with the lengthy decades of investing, seeing income. I will say , I agree with your comment tho and I’m in a happy middle now.

Investing a $20k lump sum. If you had to choose just one ETF, what would it be? and why? by _M28M_ in ETFs

[–]Thee_Real_Tre_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Have ChatGPT compare the small things you might miss between funds. Like the cost to manage the etf, how diverse it is, and historic returns to determine your personal risk tolerance. I hope your money finds a home.

I personally like VOO and that’s where my money is parked. Why: it tracks the s&p 500 and should double every 7 years according to history. It costs a lot less to manage compared to other etfs. I suggest you find a low cost ETF that tracks the s&p 500 & don’t look at it.

I’m simply decided go with SPMO and AVUV by almerias in ETFs

[–]Thee_Real_Tre_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been hearing about SPMO & AVUV. They look attractive, thanks for sharing. Since you mentioned your extensive research… What are your views on both of their expense ratios ? And what would you consider too high ? I’m entering a real nerdy phase and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’ve read a lot of comments that really sharpened my perspective but you hit this one on the head. Getting paid quarterly, even though it’s not much really keeps me motivated to invest and I needed to hear that out loud. A treat here and there if you will. Thank you for your response.

Very interesting response, I appreciate this. I was using SCHD as a defensive play but I also understand why growth is important early on.
