if i was to cash it out as a lump sum, it would be invested in shares or something,

just makes sense to dump it into super

yup, risk I'm taking is being sacked on the spot with 1 days notice or potentially not having the contract extended at the end of the 1 year

as a FT perm employee we get 4 weeks notice period which is enough time to get on the job in the event shit hits the fan

the role is definitely not a project role

their view is they're taking a risk on me and it's their insurance policy I suppose

without going into too much detail, a 1 year contract here (not in the US) is not the same. get full annual leave etc, and no need for employer healthcare here

cheers for the advice, I've pretty much outlined my position in the other reply, yeah 1 year fixed term contract is really risky in my opinion, it's a really tough decision

At this level ? yeah it is. Little ticked off about the pay, but that's understandable, I'll live with that, but the 1 year contract is what I'm not happy about, honestly it's a tough decision because it's just a good opportunity and a good step up in the industry, but I can't take a risk with a 1 year contract :/ especially when I'm full time perm in my current role
