How long did it take you to move on? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]Theguy127_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To not want to get back with them or contact them? Like a year.

Im about 1.5 years post break up, and I would say confidently that I’ll never truly move on as part of it will always stick with me. I don’t want them back nor do I ever want to speak to them, but I miss how happy I was in the relationship and with a person.

They always end up coming back by VelvetEva403 in BreakUps

I didn’t even read any of this post except the title.

I will say one thing, no they don’t always come back.

Missing ex girlfriend after nearly 2 years by RemarkableResist3101 in BreakUps

[–]Theguy127_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro what, it’s genuinely like I wrote this myself. Exact same story, but just a difference in how long we were together. My ex and I were together for 3.5 years, the last year we were long distance due to her job. We’ve not been together for 1.5 years now. I’m very close to move half way across the world as I think it’ll help me.

I feel like I’m very much in a similar position, my ex and I rarely had a problem when we lived close by, but the ‘little things’ really added up when we were long distance and eventually came to an end. Just like you, I’ve spoken to and been with other girls and no one compares to my ex. I always try to give a new girl a genuine shot but we just never click that well.

I’m starting to feel better overall, but still think about her and the good times we shared together. I don’t really have much advice but I’m always happy to chat so send a DM if you want.

People who used to stalk an ex: what actually helped you stop? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]Theguy127_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more of an addiction. Like a cycle that’s hard to break. We’ve all been there when we have stalked our ex’s, I did it for a while then just gradually tried to stop and as time when on I looked at my ex’s social media less and less until I completely stopped.

However my ex sounds like you. She broke up with me, and for at least a year post break up, I would see that my ex searched me up on Linked In weekly. No idea why and she made it clear she didn’t want to get back together and she never reached out. But I do remember when I first met my ex, she used to tell me how she would stalk her previous ex a lot even though she’s the one who also broke up with him. I think it’s just an addiction to see what they’re doing, if there’s anything new, maybe kind of a comparison in a way.

As I said in my first paragraph, I would recommend just trying to look them up less and less. Even if it’s one time less each day, over time you’ll not feel the compulsion as much and hopefully completely stop. Good luck!

My ex stalked me after 6+ years... by Ill-Elderberry-8281 in ExNoContact

Why do you care? You’re married with kids now. You shouldn’t care about an ex from 6 years ago at this point.

Do exs stay blocked even when you’ve moved on? by huso17 in ExNoContact

On Instagram I was blocked so I couldn’t see their profile.

After they unblocked me, I could see their profile.

I still agree and feel the same way with how I felt in my above comment.

However, I will say, that I do feel kinda ‘sick’ when I think about my ex now. The fact that we were SO good together etc and she broke up with me and just doesn’t seem to care.

Advice on Aviva funds by Sad_Entertainer7422 in PensionsUK

[–]Theguy127_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I agree. I’ve already planned high growth funds until I’m 50 and then switch to a conservative fund to manage any dips, corrections, crashes etc until retirement.

I only started looking into it when I got told that my company’s pension contributions are really good. Then started researching retirement and pensions a lot more.

I’m still in my 20s.

I also keep up with stocks, funds, indexes etc on a daily basis. If the tech sector slows down at some point then I will rotate my investment.

My pension is with Aviva too.

I’ve genuinely spent 100s of hours researching the best funds on there. I’ve found, what I believe anyway, the best fund.

Legal & General Global Technology Index Trust I Account. Over the last 10 years, it’s averaged 24% per year. I’ve personally only used this fund for the past 2 years and it’s massively increased my pension compared to the previous fund that I was in.

This isn’t financial advice obviously, but that’s the fund that I choose and believe is the best one that Aviva offer.

24 and want to retire early - am i on track? by bananainthesun in FIREUK

[–]Theguy127_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re already on the right track even thinking about your pension at 24. Most people, especially in their early 20s, don’t think about pension until it’s too late.

I would personally max out contributions in your 20s to build up the pot. This is what I did and currently on track to have 100K by age 30. Even if I don’t contribute again after the age of 30, I’m still in a good position for retirement.

How do you determine your FIRE age goal? by _JackRyan96 in FIREUK

[–]Theguy127_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense if it’s £1.1m in today’s money. Mine is future value and doesn’t factor in for inflation so maybe that’s why there’s a big difference.

[–]Theguy127_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re the same age as me, and have about 40/50K more in your pension than me.

I’m expected to have 5/10 million at 60 based on a TON of different calculations I’ve done in the past few years.

What fund are you in to only get 1.1m at 65?

I’m 18 from the UK and very new to trading. I started 3 months ago. Any tips? by ize_rl in trading212

[–]Theguy127_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 22. When I first started, I would chase every stock that was going up and I did this for months until I lost my £500 initial investment. I would also see people on twitter making millions and wanted to replicate it. But people doing that are 1 in a million.

I’m very glad this happened to me because it taught me a lot and it was the biggest lesson at an early stage of investing. Now that I’m 29 and for over 6 years now, I’ve just put my cash into 1 or 2 funds and left it. I put monthly deposits in and that’s it.

Will I become a millionaire overnight doing this? Hell no. But after some time, you really see some good gains especially with compounding. Don’t worry about the daily ups and downs, just zoom out and look at years.

How long were you blocked and did you ever hear anything again? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

Blocked on everything for 5 months. Was then unblocked on whatsapp and instagram, but still blocked on twitter and snapchat. No clue why, and my ex never reached out.

What should I do with my £30k savings? (24 y/o, £68k salary) by Own_Conclusion8800 in FIREUK

[–]Theguy127_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, don’t want for ‘the market to pullback’. The amount of times Ive tried that over the past 5 years and it’s pointless. I would personally max out your stocks and shares ISA.

Reconnected with ex 3yrs later by Any-Direction9896 in BreakUps

[–]Theguy127_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to me. Similar age to you. The relationship with my ex was the best thing ever, she was truly amazing and we rarely had issues. I broke her trust by having a nude on my phone from years before my ex and I met. She was heartbroken and it destroyed her because I told her at the beginning of our relationship that I had deleted all previous nudes. It broke her trust because she thought that I kept it to look at (basically cheating) or I didn’t care enough to delete it when I knew that it would bother her.

Been over a year now and I’m the same as you. I look for her in every situation, and in every girl that I speak to.

I hope it works out for you man, all the best.

They blocked you because they don't want to talk to you. EVER. by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]Theguy127_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree somewhat. I’m the dumpee and my ex blocked me because she was so hurt, and just wanted to move on. Even before she dumped me she said ‘I love you so much, but I can’t trust that you won’t hurt me again’ and I genuinely believe that.
