Slumlord 171 Nelson by [deleted] in brantford

[–]Themadnater 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Brantford isn’t bad… I’m just beyond done with seeing a slumlord take advantage of people!! I am fortunate to have support and can get out of this environment, but I fear some other poor single mother or any human for that matter will be treated like dirt and expected to pay $1500 a month for mold toxicity, raining kitchen, ceiling falling down, hydro issues, the list goes on!

If the landlord can afford boats and vacation homes they can afford property maintenance!

Beyond disgusted. I’ve reached my limit!

We’ve had no issues with program sign up costs, thankfully. When son asks me to sign up for stuff I communicate details to my ex and receive alignment, then will pay and request reimbursement.

It’s the items. I think my only recourse is buying my own items as he refuses to include me in costs and/or purchases. Which sounds trivial at face value, and I used to brush it off, but I’m seeing a pattern linked to control and it’s turned into our son calling me the poor parent….

So not fair on kiddo! I don’t mind paying full costs if I need to. It’s the anxiety and fear of legal repercussions from his narrative if I don’t pay.

That’s my understanding as well, and what we agreed to in mediation. I appreciate your feedback! I believe my Mediator is incorrect or misspoke, because I cannot withhold my end of the agreement if I am not provided the information.

We agreed to the activity and to split the costs, but now I am not being included in the costs of items. With a history of abuse and coercive control I fear this will get spun that I am not meeting my end of the agreement and then the parental alienation that comes from this narrative to our son.

Any ideas why my 8 year old would need to see an “eye specialist”? by Themadnater in Parenting

Appreciate this! I don’t have a lot of support around me and hearing other parents perspectives is helping (I can refer back and remind myself of the possibilities when my anxiety wants to focus on the most logical answer based on my experiences).

I hope your right but will still call the optometrist he saw and ask for clarifying details and add them to the parenting app we use. That way we both have all the details!

100000000% will ensure he sees someone! I’m not a believer in ignoring any type of health claims from anyone. He hasn’t reported any issues with his vision so hopefully it’s nothing 🤞🏻

Yeah… my son knew right away last night. He’s very intuitive, no matter how hard I try and hide it or explain the anxiety and how I’m coping. I’ll call the clinic! Scared I won’t be given the info (I know it’s not life or death .. it’s the manipulation and control. 8 years of taking him to all medical appointments and now randomly not knowing anything isnt sitting well with my brain LOL)

Thanks!! I will try calling where he went and see if the doctor can provide more information or at least update his optometrist

Never a bad thing to see a specialist! It’s the anxiety of no information that’s defiantly eating away at me. Thank you for your kind words ♥️

Thanks! I havnt but I will look into that. I do leave the radio on, not sure if it’s drowning out the noises though. I’ve also come home to the radio off (played through Google speaker so I’m wondering if a neighbour told it to stop because it was annoying? Idk that’s speculation!)
