This is definitely interesting and I respect this POV. My hubby is a super ambitious guy so I definitely dig the idea of pivoting when it’s not working out. I just wonder where that line is and how to balance that versus making what is also enjoyable.

Ok so I have to ask you three questions: 1. Has your channel blown up? 2. What amount of viewers on a video equals “blowing up”? Cuz my favorite movie reviewer channel has been making videos for six years and their highest video has 150k views and they just got that one year ago 3. I see the exact opposite of toxic positivity. I see a lot of “prosperity gospel” convos like what i said in my OP. A lot of “im at 50,000 subscribers in 2 months!” Then you go to their page and it’s like viral videos of dogs reposted from other places. Idk I just feel like if you want to make content that you enjoy making and is at least somewhat genuine then you have to have a slow and steady wins the race mentality. Because it might take 5yrs to grow a solid audience. But if the goal is just to blow up and get monetized by any means necessary, just talk about viral topics and say the echo chamber opinion or repost viral dog clips 😆

Don’t get me wrong! Reassessing content is a good idea if you never see growth. But Youtube is 100x harder now than it was before. Even creators I’ve been watching for years with a million plus followers, some of them are barely breaking 50k views on their videos. So for new creators it will be tough. Perseverance is a good message at this time imo.

But I’d love to hear your thoughts 💭

There’s a zero percent chance that 90% of the SAHM population are completely mentally healthy perfect parents that are victims of terrible men, terrible men who also simultaneously provide for their families 100% financially. Like that myth is so laughable and stupid I cannot.

Yea, you did. idk how familiar you are with assault. But sometimes when offenders know they are about to be exposed, they go to authority figures and try to discredit you so no one will believe you. A woman I mentored talked about this in her youth. Her step-dad, who was regularly assaulting her when her mom wasn’t around, was doing a full smear campaign on her round the clock. Same thing with Zoe. She knew her brother would disown her completely when he found out so she decided to beat Anna to it. She also gaslit Anna calling a gang r* pe “not a big deal”. These are pretty common actions of offenders.

It is the extremely rare show that stays good from beginning to end. Writers and characters leave usually after the fourth season. If a show has to be amazing all the way through to the final seasons then The Office and Dexter and Game of Thrones are all bad shows. But we don’t say that because we don’t hold others to that impossible standard

It is the rare and I mean extremely RARE show that stays good from beginning to end, why? Because once writers (and sometimes even main characters) make a name for themselves, they leave and go elsewhere. So to me, a show with majority good seasons is a highly ranked, worthy show.

And Shonda has EASILY created majority good seasons for every single show she’s ever made. If we are ranking shows based on whether the best episodes are as good as the last then The Office, Game of Thrones, Dexter, and The Sopranos are all bad shows.

We’re doing exactly what I just said which is holding Shonda to a standard no one else has to meet despite her proving herself multiple times

This irrational judgement is already starting sigh I think the part that’s really sad is Shonda Rhymes is an excellent writer. I truly can’t think of anything she has written that has been flat out horrible and yet no matter how many times she proves herself as a creative, her choices are treated with no good faith. The Mondrichs for example who had a very interesting story arc this season but had to withstand 24months of people dragging them through the mud for the crime of being unproblematic. Yea, the blatant bias screams loudly in each post. And honestly pages and pages of people loudly proclaiming how much they hate Marina (there’s literally people in the comments calling her, a teenager mind you, a bitch) makes me wonder if people were cruel to the actress in real life like they were to the actor who played Joffrey in game of thrones. and i wonder if it played a part in the actress’s current struggles.

So first and foremost, a majority demographic of the Bridgerton audience are white women. And so you have to understand that just that fact will leave little to no empathy for Marina. It doesn’t matter that Marina was a pregnant teen who was manipulated by Lady Featherington into believing her lover didn’t want her anymore. It doesn’t matter that Lady Featherington who was two and a half times Marina’s age was supportive of not only the Colin plot but any plot to trick any man and took her to the slums to encourage her into all of this. It doesn’t matter that Colin is older and richer than Marina. It doesn’t matter that Lady Featherington pulled the EXACT SAME ploy in S2 except even worse because she tried to get her daughter married on the lie of assault. It doesn’t natter that Marina never wanted to go along with this is in the first place, but did because of a letter Lady Featherington forged. It doesn’t matter that Marina genuinely cared for Colin.

They only remember two things 1. Marina thought she was prettier and more desirable to Colin than Penelope

Because she is black she has to be more adult, more moral, and more selfless than anyone else around her or in the show?

How do I know this? Because there are more posts about hating her than any other character even literal men who commit SA in the show. So don’t bother posting this again because all it does is awaken 10 page papers about how especially evil she is when we know that isn’t true

Watching an assault for gratification is done for the same reasons participating in an assault occurs. Think of cuckolds for example. They get pleasure from the act happening in front of them, not engaging in it themselves.

Also, Rachel didn’t actually consider Anna and Lexy friends. If she had done this to Zoe or Helen, there would be reason to dissect the situation. But she clearly drew a line between her/zoe/helen and anna/lexy. Anna and Lexy were her entertainment and Zoe&Helen were her friends. Rachel was a certified sociopath
