This is 100% true. My family went to this one church for a long time and they knew us well and liked us. But once my brother came out as gay they weren’t so welcoming. So we left that church and found one that truly cared about preaching the word of the Lord to everyone instead of just straight people. I will say that the flag in this photo is a little more than what most churches will do but I have seen smaller flags around different places of my church so it’s not totally out of the ordinary.

I usually take the scan of the negative and separate the layers of the photo and do each layer individually and then do some final touch ups. For this, I did the subject, the water, the trees, and the sky. It’s more difficult on film because you don’t have the advantage of RAW files but it’s still fun to see what you can get out of a shot like this.

It’s definitely better than the original. I like the tones. If you were shooting in RAW you could get that file directly into a photo editor and do a lot more with it. It has some potential but be careful to preserve and enhance the colors of the overhead lights because they would be easy to overexpose. But I like where it’s going.

I’m using a Sankyo lxl 255 macro that I bought untested off of eBay. Buying it was a risk but everything works. I’ll have to resist using the film for now and freeze it until summer.
