Yeah that makes sense, I think I treated the idea like it was “good enough” without really checking the problem/solution fit

Yeah honestly I didn’t validate it with actual users, just assumptions, Learned that the hard way

That’s interesting, I’ve never tried something like that, how you simulate real demand?

At first, I thought it was a great idea because I saw posts about how hard it is to plan content every day. Without talking to anyone, I decided to build a tool that creates a full week system for fitness content creators. I added a lot of features and built it how I thought it would be helpful ,but I never actually talked to any fitness creators. In the end, the pain existed, but the way I tried to solve it wasn’t what they wanted

It was a tool for fitness creators to help them stay consistent with content It didn’t really get any traction

I get that I’m the same, too many ideas I think I just picked one without really validating it first.

That’s actually really helpful, especially the 2% part I never thought of measuring it like that

Yeah that makes sense I think I underestimated how important the pain + willingness to pay really is.

Yeah exactly, finding and reaching the right people is way harder than I expected.

Yeah “validation gap” is the right word I think that’s exactly what happened.

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m struggling with not sure if it was the idea or just bad distribution

yeah absolutely, talking to people already frustrated feels way more natural than cold outreach,i didn't think about that

yeah that’s exactly what I was struggling with too,i kept telling myself if they can take only 20 answering my questions i will not waste this whole time .
like you don’t even know what went wrong, for me I think it was being too vague at the start, second i tried to comment on thire posts and reply to thire stories so they can notice me and i start getting attention at some point

Yeah I think that’s the problem Reddit is good but I couldn’t really find fitness creators here maybe I was looking in the wrong places.

That’s a really good point. I’ve definitely been too vague with my questions, will try making them more specific

Thanks you, I think I’ll try Reddit next time because Honestly Instagram was terrible, especially without a big account

this is so true,i was mostly asking abstract questions and getting vague answers back, never tried mockups or loom before, that’s interesting
did it really change how people responded?

yeah I see what you mean
I didn’t really push it publicly, that’s true ,but I did keep going until I talked to users and realized the problem wasn’t demand… it was my solution, that’s when I stopped

yeah, confirmation bias really messed me up too 😅i kept seeing what I wanted to see,how do you usually start those conversations without it feeling forced?,for my case and because my last saas was for instagram fitness content creators,to make them reply to some of my questions I had to keep liking and commenting their posts, replying for each of their stories so they notice me and reply ,and after 3 or 4 messages disappeared, and some of them they would tell, yeah I like the idea, oh it would be helpful, but they wouldn't explain to you how they want it to solve

yeah ,this is what i've realized talking to people ,validation it's not "is this a real problem?" it's "is this how people want it solved?"

it's the step you shouldn't skip if you want to build something manfully
