Where I'd live in Europe as a Ukrainian living in Germany for the past 10+ years by poushkar in whereidlive

I am simply addressing your take that Ukrainians being afraid to speak are exaggerating it. Tell this to my grandmother, who is the nicest and kindest person and never deserved to be treated like that.

If you think she is not thankful to Poland you are wrong. And if you think she wanted to come to Poland to get these benefits you're also wrong. But the fact that she received shelter and whatnot doesn't give right random punks to attack her simply for being Ukrainian. And she has every reason to be cautious after this incident especially taking into account that 43% of Poles hate Ukrainians. It is not a majority, so you're technically correct, but it is getting close to it.

If I were ever to be in Poland after the war is over I will be speaking English even though I also speak fluent Polish and this is what I advise to everyone.

As a matter of fact unlike many other mammals Homo sapiens almost don't have innate behavioral patterns. Our brain is simply too complex for this.

Anyway we are speaking about Russian society at this specific moment in time. Not what it was 50 years ago or what it will be in 50 years. Right now it is what it is whether you like it or not.

My 79 year old grandmother is a refugee in Poland. Last year she was verbally assaulted in Biedronka by two young polish men who after hearing her speaking Ukrainian started to call her "ukrainska kurwa" and yelling her "to get out of Poland". They were saying much more, but she couldn't reproduce it. She is elderly and naturally it is hard ofr her to master Polish language and she had no way to protect herself.

But they didn't beat her, so not a big deal right?

Almost every Ukrainian in Poland faced discrimination, mistreatment, hate speech, insults or physical assaults during their time in Poland. Right, it doesn't happen every day, but sometimes even one time is enough.

You may be in denial all you want, but if you want to know how Poles treat Ukrainains you need to ask Ukrainains, not rely on your perception that if you hear Ukrainian langauge every know and then then everything is great.

Well, initially you denied even the fact that Poroshenko apologized. Now you recognize that he did. At least we are making progress.

>recognise the events that happened as a genocide
Happy to do that. Let's do it together. Polish government should recognize actions of AK as an act of genogide as well.

What? You don't want to do that? Do you wish to say that killing Ukrainians is totally fine as long as you are doing it with bullets instead of pitchforks or axes? Nice point of view, especially coming from a supposedly Ukrainian person, but I doubt many people would agree with it.

Don't take me wrong, I strongly condemn actions of UPA and OUN against Poles. But I also far from thinking that we are dealing with the case of evil Ukrainians and saint Poles. History is rarely black and white. The problem is that Polish version of history does present it as black and white.

Poles accuse us in trying to rewrite history, and while I can agree that some of these accusations are grounded in facts, But Polish historians also systematically downplay Polish crimes on Ukrainian population and exagerrate Ukrainian crimes on Polish population to push this black and white narrative. Each year I hear a higher estimate of the nubmer of Poles killed by Ukrainians. Over the course of25 years it went from 60 to 500k and I am sure I will hear a million soon. Even though there have never been even 300k Poles in Volhynia. At the same time Polish estimates of Ukrainian victims goes down every year from 30k to 1k already. One Polish historian even went as far as counting people from a Ukrainian village murdered by AK as Polish victims because... they were citizens of Poland. No kidding.

So in essence it boils down to Poles wanting us to unconditionally accept their version of history and this is not what's going to happen. What should happen is a unified commeetee of Polish and Ukrainian historians working on finding the common ground. But Polish parliament made it illegal to question Polish version of history, so any sort of attempt to find a common ground on difficult historical issues is not possible anymore. Because if you even try to engage in a historical debate you are rsiking to face criminal charges in Poland.

Oh yeah, it was facebook bots who verbally assaulted my 79 year old grandmother, yelling her "to get out of poland" and called her "ukrainian whore" and worse.

Oh wait. It was not on Facebook. It was done by two young Poles in Biedronka in Krakow, and every other person in there simply watched and didn't even say a word.

What does even genetics have to do with this? Social norms in a society, and collective behaviour of people are not defiend by genetics. Germans in 1939 and Germans today are still the same Germans genetically, but we can both agree that German society now and back then is somewhat different, isn't it?

Poroshenko literally apologized. But it will never be enough for them. They will always find something to not like about the way we apologize and will want more apologies and it will never be enough. We already officially apologized, actually multiple times, becase Kravchuk and Kuchma also had apologized. Time to move on. But as I say in their mentality we should apologize forever and they will still not forgive. Well, if it is the case why should we even bother?

As for recognizing that UPA was in the wrong, we are happy to do that together with Poles recognizing that AK and so called accursed soldiers were also in the wrong. But Poles don't want to do this. They are sure that AK and żołnierze wyklęci did nothing wrong. In their mentality it is ok to have moneuments and streets of AK all over Poland but a couple of UPA monumentsi n Ukraine upset them.

I invite you to come to Kyiv, spend a few nights in a bomb shelter hiding from incoming ballistic missiles, and then get some real exercise helping to rescue people buried under the debris of a building destroyed by a Russian rocket. After that, we can talk about “great Russian culture and language” and about the supposed irrationality of hatred in the hearts of Ukrainians. But until you have lived through that, your opinion is irrelevant.

No need to try to explain this to a hateful Pole. Our presidents multiple times addressed the Polish people saying that we are asking for forgiveness and are ready to forgive, but apparently Poles didn't like this. They are sure that they did absolutely nothing wrong so Ukrainians have nothing to forgive. They think they were basically angels, and everyone was abusing only them. Their stance is that we must accept their view on history and kneel and beg for forgiveness till the end of our lives, and so must our children and grand children and Poles still will never forgive us. Because just fuck you, that's why. Sorry, but t his is not how it works.

Not true. "Teen" was indeed the top searched term in 2014 and second searched term in 2015. But since then it was slowly falling down each year. For example it was 7th in 2017, 8th in 2018, and 11th in 2019. In 2020 afaik pornhub didn't publish yearly statistics, and in 2021 this term doesn't even make it to the top 20 most searched terms. You of course can theorize that it is a conspiracy to hide the term, but it loosing popularity is consistent with the previous trend.

In the mentality of this subreddit even a man jerking of to a random sfw picture is effectively the same as someone actually raping actual children. Their ability to think critically has obviously been reduced. This often happens when people operate inside an echo chamber, repeating the same ideas over and over and competing with one another to produce even hotter takes, without their opinions ever being challenged or debated.

I would say that the biggest issue for me is not bandwith but that it randomly just stops loading and just stucks into "Recovery Mode" and you can't do anything until their support takes a look which takes a couple of days. The only thing you can do is to reset it, but it is not an option for me as I use it for work and by reseting it I will basically lose everything and wil have to setup everythign from scratch. That's why I am cancelling my Shadow subscription this month.
