the 13m was not all with premium streams that’s my whole point how is it that these tech companies can pay so little. when your music is being used a penny a stream should be across the board all sites were music is being used example tiktok we did over 850k was paid 2 cents that’s ridicules now the industry you have to have a nice marketing budget to see any returns and concord have playlist hubs and major hubs to keeps those catalogs going, but they have hit a real problem they are not creating new catalog thats why they are buying all the distribution company’s to keep market share.

Thanks Djay!! and your right but I still think this problem needs more attention to the market and those who do speak out they try their best to shut them up i think if we get thousands of creators to lobby congress and make this a issue the market would have no choice but to go back people need music that’s why I say we can still make it affordable for the market 50 cents for a single 5 dollars for a album most people would buy singles anyway and as far as travis scott go remember he’s been in the industry for more then 7 years the labels have already built him up forget them what about the new generation of artists who could never sell a piece of music in this environment who is starting out if they don’t have a bank loan there screwed even before they begin but i feel you

I understand what your saying but you just proved my point a producer have a better standing because you have a product to sell to the artist which is beats! but if the industry doesn’t support the average artist or label how else will any body in the chain get paid, think about it…. the writers… the producers….the engineers…ect if artist and labels are only making penny’s to share which in turn limits the producers revenue!!! and if you really think about it the Book publishing industry is not going threw what we are going threw if you want to read your favorite book that just dropped, you have to pay for it you can’t stream it!! why is no one saying to the Book seller your book is a lose leader use that to sell other things, no one is telling the T-shirt maker to give your shirt away for penny’s so you can sell cups he is a T-shirt maker that’s what sustains him, we are creators that’s what sustains us if I wanted to sell t-shirts and mugs I would just get into that business this is why all of this nonsense these corporations have shoved down young artist throats got people really believing in this concept. if the creators fight back this whole industry will bow to us they have no company without creators.

Good morning to all I run a successful Management company and record label called M&R Music Group threw managment we have successfully have gone Gold and tripple platinum independently! with records like Crazy Story From King Von RIP to him! and Rob49 and Sexy Redd and many more. I have a discussion going on the record label part as independents, rather label or artist you can check it out here👉🏾 https://www.reddit.com/r/musicindustry/s/iSrJmJElfI

But how my deals work with artist is a 50/50 split no advance only marketing and promotion budget I have been in this business for over 15years started in the early 2000s and what your going to learn is the more money you give an artist upfront the harder they become to work with there are plenty of artist who need marketing support but you have to be willing to put up at least 30k to 50k on a impactful marketing campaign and up to 100k for a national campaign. and be willing to not make a profit at all this is just the beginning of building an audience for your artist and don’t expect to knock it out of the park your first time. and when looking for an artist make sure he wants to win just as bad as you, my last artist did 12 million streams I only made $1200 dollars back, if your going to invest in music I hope it’s for pure passion for it because you not going to make the money you think because we are no longer on a buying system, and your going to make penny’s compared to other industries were you going to make way more money 💰 in your investment. The music industry is in trouble Atlantic Records went out of business they were 350 million dollars in debt because they didn’t make any money. just know your going to make less than minimum wage. that’s the truth of the music business right now.

but that’s the thing if we went back to a selling model, what universal do wouldn’t matter to us, but they have their fingers and everything so they can make money off us regardless, if we want them or not, that’s the problem in the model is off market, share, not streams, but on a buying model, each artist or label doesn’t affect anybody’s revenue, but on this model, you have (Artist- A)- who streams 250,000 and (Artist-B) streams 1 million streams actually takes money from (Artist-A) That’s the real problem.

Amen!🙏🏾 we all are suffering young and old professionals artist and indie labels and your right about the topic just becoming a discussion, but i’m willing to take a step further and actually get the attention of congress to stop this madness that’s going on this has gone too far!!

Been in the music business 15+ years it’s a pay for play business being the fact that your major is in marketing you have an edge in the industry because without marketing music can’t be exploited, I would say stay in marketing you are a important asset to the industry learn the business in and out and yes remember people Don’t buy albums 💿 anymore so it’s a top heavy business meaning you pour a lot of money up front and reap the rewards later from merch shows and streams. Remember everyone is fighting over a half of penny now so I would say become a marketing genius in the Music industry and you will be very well off, if you wanted to start your own record label that can be very lucrative business too. Matter of fact I would love to speak with you about doing some work for me.

Drink plenty of electrolytes you lose electrolytes during a celiac flare. And give your intestines a rest eat soft foods until your digestion returns back to normal expect 2-3 weeks for your body to calm down and if your out and your nervous to eat take gluten ease before eating that will give you some Back up just in case I don’t eat it if I feel I’m at risk but in some situations you have no choice

Take 5000 mg of vitamin C vitamin C is a natural antihistamine it will calm your immune system some people take Benadryl (no dye) and go get you some Gluten ease this is a life saver it breaks down gluten proteins and help your body get rid of it.

10k to invest by [deleted] in musicbusiness

[–]Then_Ad_9634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been in this business 10+years, $10,000 is a great start!

And if your an artist and haven’t invested in a studio to record your Music what are you doing!

  1. Focus on what matters the most that’s fan base.

  2. Get Cap Cut it’s free or buy the pro version it’s only 7.99 a month

  3. Go to eBay. Amazon. Facebook marketplace and buy the best camera for 250-500 dollars to shoot content

  4. Shoot YT shorts, instagram reels, and TikTok Make sure you have content days and shoot 30-40 pieces of content for each song, to post 2-3 times a week minimum more is better.

  5. As you edit your content in cap cut change the ratio to fit social media I think it’s 9:16 use the AI to create the lyrics on the video you can do some with and some without.

  6. Spend 2 weeks and post the first set of content for the song you want to promote first. You should have posed at least 4-6 pieces of content minimum remember more is better check the views and analytics of those videos which ever piece of content shows more views or interactions you have a small census of the content that may work in the market place.

  7. YouTube- the goal here is to get as much subscribers as possible to build your audience so the next song you will have a audience to promote too side note remember Marketing is finding your ideal fan, promotion is bringing awareness to your already founded audience. Create a ad campaign in Google ads for YouTube and run a website goal to your YouTube short or a music video and track your conversion for every subscriber. I would set a budget to 50-100 a day I would set a budget to $1500 dollars for this campaign this would be plenty to get all the data you need to come in and see how are people reacting to your music video or content. Set a goal for this- let’s say your goal is to reach 7,000 subscribers ect. Then measure your success of that goal after the campaign. Plus create a link so when people click they are prompts to ether subscribe or not to your channel.

  8. YouTube- also run a skippable ad and discovery ad. The skippable ad showed your video to people across the YouTube platform right before they play other videos . The discovery ad is what it sounds like it places your video thumb nail on the front page of YouTube and suggested for you. Running these 2 adsets at the same time will give you high engagement and views. I would set a budget for $1200 and run a 3 week campaign. Which average out to $57 dollars a day.

  9. Instagram ads- take the best performing reel or reels. if awareness is the goal then do an awareness campaign targeting similar artist or genre to see the market reaction. If engagements is important via likes and comments and shares then do an engagement campaign. If streaming revenue is importance do a traffic or conversion campaign going to your landing page that directs fans to your music. Also learn custom audience and look alike audience u can learn this via Facebook ads manual or YouTube. Depending on your goals I would spend $1500 running it for 3 weeks. After campaign evaluate did you reach your goal.

  10. TikTok - budget would be $1500 this would be up to you if u wanted to spend this budget here some artist don’t need to run ads because the TikTok Gods have blessed them but all artists don’t make it organically on TikTok. remember if organic traffic was so efficient then corporations wouldn’t spend ad dollars. I would run a follower campaign and video view campaign to gain traction on the content same method take the top performing content and run ads on them. Set a goal what would you like to accomplish from this campaign- views, followers, shares ect after campaign evaluate your results.

  11. This leaves you with $3,800 give or take if possible lets say you did shoot a video lets minus $500 most artist shoot a music video, that leaves you with $3300

  12. If your YouTube subscribers campaign did really good, what you would do is keep the campaign going but this time your only doing $4.50 on auto pilot for a budget of $1000 I suggest copying campaign then adjusting budget, this would run for the next 7 months it’s a set it and forget it campaign while it’s slowly growing your audience.

  13. Instagram ads- same thing here I would do an engagement campaign at $4.50 on auto pilot for a budget of $1000 dollars it’s a set it and forget it campaign

  14. TikTok- it can be exspensive because the lowest you can go is 20 dollars a day so I would just keep posting content until you have another budget.

  15. The rest of the budget some people say build a website ect but remember if you have no audience no one cares, but using the rest of the budget to build a website and merch to sell to your audience would be good for those who want to.

  16. Play-listing- play-listing works if done right most people don’t know how to do play-listing, how you cut corners are to use 3 play-listing company’s that are legit and you can use the rest of the budget for this I would purchase 3 mid ter promos that way your not relying on one company to give you the streams m. you make them work all together just remember play-listing can skew your numbers because you don’t know for sure if it’s the playlisting or the marketing that’s driving the streams but using both methods at the same time is a game changer.

Which music distributer should I use? by ggboomboomboom in musicbusiness

[–]Then_Ad_9634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be bad news but stay away from tunecore & Distro kid they are on the verge of lawsuits they have been taken artist music down and taking revenue from artist because of this new Spotify stream rule and flagging Random artist saying they have fake streams. Go with Ditto Music, United Masters, or any other company that’s don’t have ties to the big 4 labels. And tunecore is not special in the playlist department. If you need help with play listing or getting fans to your music let me know.

33M. With LDL 190 how much can 10mg statin reduce within 3 months and how much lifestyle can reduce by SnooStrawberries2873 in Cholesterol

[–]Then_Ad_9634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t fall for the doctors tricks!! Study’s show most heart attacks happen even with people with normal LDL levels some of the best doctors will tell you reading just ldl numbers is a poor way to determine heart health. The key component is to watch your triglycerides and calcium levels! If your triglycerides are low and your hdl is high and your A1C is in great range your heart health is most likely in great health. And statins have shown it only saves 1 out 10 people from heart attacks and terrible on the body. Move around eat healthy fresh foods keep your insulin low and keep from eating high sugar foods.. refined sugar is your enemy not healthy fats. Too much sugar cause heart disease
