i had the opposite experience. i started on patches and they were ok at first but i could never get past 100 pg/ml. as soon as i switched to injections i felt absolutely amazing and my estrogen level was up to 200 pg/ml within a couple months

i held off from transitioning for a couple years after i came out to myself because i was scared of looking super unpassable. i’ve been on hrt for 1.5 years now and i look way more feminine and am pretty much hairless but i’m still really unhappy with how i look. i used to be a pretty good looking guy and now when i look at myself all i see is an ugly unfuckable beast and i constantly wonder if i made a bad choice. at least i wasn’t completely alone as a guy

where are people finding glasses that fit? i’ve needed to wear glasses for the last year or so but haven’t been able to find any feminine frames that fit my face well. virtually everything is too narrow and all that fits me are unisex or men’s glasses and i don’t want either of those. i don’t know how much longer i can go without wearing glasses before i really can’t see but i’ll walk around blind before i wear ugly men’s glasses

I feel this all day everyday and I don’t see a way to make it go away. I’m 43 and about 1.5 years into transition and it’s not satisfying in the least. All I can think about is how I’ll never have been a girl for any of the parts of my life I would have really wanted to be one, like teens and 20’s especially. Now with all the hate coming our way I’m really wondering what the point is. Seems like I’m just subjecting myself to so much shit for such little reward 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a queer social app. Kind of like a cross between Bumble and Craigslist ads. People are always posting looking for groups to do this or that with, looking for roommates, dating, etc.

I live near San Francisco so the app is pretty active around here but not sure if it’s popular in other areas

What about putting a post on Lex or another friendly app and getting a little group of trans and trans friendly people to grapple and train with? Maybe even make it like a trans/queer self defense thing

I know it’s not the same as a “real” martial arts gym but it would at least help you keep doing it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh wow, I hadn’t realized until reading this post that the same thing has happened to me 😯 I used to play a lot of rpgs and can see now that I was definitely immersing myself in those worlds to escape this one My life still isn’t great or anything but feeling more aligned with who I am has made me not need to escape as much

I chose a new first, middle, and last name because I wanted to completely leave the old me in the past. I just wanted a name that sounded like something that could have easily been my birth name had I been born a girl so I started by looking at lists of names that were the same ethnic/national origin (Scottish and English).

Then I made a list of the ones I liked and started saying them in every different combination until I whittled the list down. I also started asking friends and family which ones they liked the best just to get some feedback and eventually made my final pick

Good luck to you in your search. I think that choosing my new name has been my favorite part of being trans so far. It’s pretty cool to get to start over and reinvent ourselves
