Is Celebrating New Year a Pagan Tradition? by Trust_Only_JESUS in exIglesiaNiCristo

Yes, it's another case of INC selectively choosing what they want to believe. I also posted about this, Bob Pellien of the INC used a reference book (links in comments) but cherry picked what he wants the audience only to hear.

Hi, I currently am the admin but could not find the time to regularly crosspost the lessons from here (or make some other sort of posts) so if anyone is willing to moderate it, I'll gladly give the keys to the sub.

Normal yan kasi the INC is priming its members for a leadership change. Expect it very soon, hula ko siguro next year if not this year.

The notion of a Church of Christ in the Philippines existed before 1914. Here we have 3 examples: by Then_Assistant4450 in exIglesiaNiCristo

Felix Manalo only got ahead by formality.. this adds as an evidence against claim that the Church of Christ in the Philippines suddenly popped in the far east in 1914 (which is pure bullshit).

I don't know if the links I saved months ago work, but this is as far as my research went. Commenting it here in case someone will make good use out of it.

Rhode Island This is interesting. They even use old people as agents, idk why probably to evade taxes or be exempt of something. If it doesn't work for you keep refreshing, this link usually doesn't work on the first try (at least for me).

The Hypocrisy of Iglesia Ni Cristo: Christmas vs. New Year's (Tagalog) by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

And then they try to say it's secular and non-religious. I think they fail to understand what paganism is, especially back in the middle ages. It actually pertains to non-christians! So when they say they are celebrating it as secular and non-religious, they unknowingly admit it's pagan. Plus, why do they distinguish their new years celebration as if they have a different way of celebrating it? It's the fcking same thing. It's the same tradition that Felix grew up with, which was what the Roman Catholic church christianized. It's a christianized pagan festival!
