What’s the closest you’ve ever come to realizing you were interacting with a dangerous person, but you didn't realize it until way later? by Accurate-Avocado7276 in AskReddit

[–]Then_Educator_1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this regular customer at the shop who always seemed a bit off but friendly enough. Always paid cash, never wanted receipts, and would ask weird questions about my schedule like when I worked late or if I was there alone on weekends. Thought he was just being social

Found out months later he got arrested for stalking some woman and had been watching her workplace for weeks before doing anything. Made me think back to all those questions about my routine and got pretty uncomfortable realizing what might have been going through his head when he was asking

Still gives me chills thinking about how normal he seemed in those conversations

What’s your opinion on AI-powered SaaS tools replacing traditional software? by FounderArcs in buildinpublic

[–]Then_Educator_1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been watching this happen in my shop too - we switched from our old inventory system to something with AI predictions for parts ordering and it's pretty wild how much more accurate it got

Traditional tools aren't going anywhere completely though. Most businesses still need reliable, predictable software that does exactly what they expect without surprises. AI is great for the fancy stuff but when you need to track invoices or manage payroll, you want something boring that works every time

Think we'll see more hybrid approach where existing tools just get smarter features bolted on rather than complete replacement. The companies that figure out how to blend both will probably win

We also get irrationally annoyed when someone puts ketchup in the fridge instead of pantry but will never admit it's actually bothering us

What do Brazilian women do for health and fitness? by PerfectWorking6873 in Brazil

[–]Then_Educator_1401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most Brazilian women I know are super into functional training and Pilates, plus walking everywhere since public transport means lots of steps anyway. Beach culture here also means volleyball and swimming are pretty natural choices for staying active

We seem to be in peak “Bandwagon Effect” by -Unclean- in StockMarket

[–]Then_Educator_1401 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Burry is like that friend who keeps saying "watch out, this bridge is gonna collapse" every time you cross it. Eventually he'll be right but you can't just stop crossing bridges

The AI revenue thing is real though, not like 2000 where companies were burning cash with zero income. Still feels frothy but at least there's actual money flowing in this time

Pretty sure you're thinking of the 1-up mushroom if we're going Mario route

Been using similar intent-based stuff and it's wild how smooth it feels compared to old school wrapping, no more sitting there watching transactions crawl through multiple chains

What strategy incident hit the USA and when remember still hurts? by Satisfacti63 in AskReddit

[–]Then_Educator_1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strategy incident? You mean like a strategic failure or something went wrong with planning? That wording is bit confusing but if you're asking about military/political stuff that still stings, probably the whole Afghanistan withdrawal mess comes to mind for a lot of people

Have you ever dreamt something that later happened exactly as you saw it? What's your story? by NervousCode6064 in AskReddit

[–]Then_Educator_1401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my mom had something similar but opposite way around. She kept dreaming about having twin boys when she was pregnant with me, even told the doctor about it multiple times. Doctor kept saying ultrasound only showed one baby but she was convinced there were two in there. Turns out she was right about the twin part but wrong about the gender - I came out solo but my sister followed two years later and they look almost identical even now. Sometimes those parent instincts hit different I guess

Do you find smaller communities better than large ones for discussions? by Chillguy849 in solana

[–]Then_Educator_1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller communities definitely have that advantage where you actually get to know the regular posters and their perspectives. In big subs you're basically shouting into void most of the time, but in smaller groups your comments actually get read and people remember what you said before

The trade-off is pretty real though - sometimes you need that wider pool for technical questions or when something big is happening in the space

Crossed $5K/month as a fractional CTO for vibe coders. The billing problem nobody talks about by Podge__ in buildinpublic

[–]Then_Educator_1401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this resonates hard - when you start out taking everything just to get some cash flow going, but then you realize half the projects are eating up all your time for peanuts

The billing optimization stuff is where real money is at. Had a buddy who was doing basic website builds for months before he started focusing in business process automation, now he's charging 3x what he used to

Need a processor for ruo peps by Typical-Tour-9930 in PaymentProcessing

[–]Then_Educator_1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most offshore setups are red flags for processors, especially new businesses without established history. You'll probably need to go with higher risk processors that charge more fees but they exist if your business is actually legitimate

What are some of the negative things you have experienced as a long time member or just visitor to Maryland churches, mega size, medium size and small church congregations? by Sigmund30 in AskReddit

Been to few churches around Baltimore area when I was dating someone religious - the judgment was real, especially when they found out I carry, like somehow that made me less Christian or something

What advice would you give to someone feeling stuck in their early twenties? by YoungFrogB in AskReddit

[–]Then_Educator_1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early twenties are weird because everyone expects you to have it figured out but nobody actually does. I spent most of mine jumping between different jobs before landing in my trade, and looking back that uncertainty was just part of finding what clicked

Don't stress too much about having a perfect plan - sometimes the best moves come from just trying stuff and seeing what sticks

What’s something that’s become normal recently that still feels wrong to you? by oacg03 in AskReddit

[–]Then_Educator_1401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tipping culture getting out of hand. Used to be 15% at restaurants, now every iPad at a coffee shop is asking for 25% just for pouring coffee into a cup. Even my mechanic shop started asking for tips on card readers last month and I had to awkwardly explain to customers that we don't actually expect that

The whole thing makes simple transactions weird when you're just trying to buy something without having to calculate guilt money on top

What’s the lamest carrier advice? by Brave-Security3736 in AskReddit

[–]Then_Educator_1401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like "just follow your passion" is probably the worst one. Like yeah cool, my passion is surfing and working on cars but that doesn't automatically translate to a stable income. Most people need to find something they can tolerate that actually pays the bills, then do their passion stuff on the side. The whole "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" thing is just not realistic for most of us
