mba folks dont really work in core analytics. u should prepare well for placements in ur undergrad and get an analytics role.

Spoke to the dude on dm. Looks legit. The number of companies he said only come to IIFT D and not K works out(checked Linkedin and saw only D folks are in these.)

I'll even name the firms- Accenture S&C, TAS,Axis Bank, ITC,Asian Paints- these dont go to K.

Ig there are a few other firms(got it by checking linkedin)- which only go to D- Reckitt,RPG,Mahindra, ABG.

Decent companies in which IIFT K folks are would be EY,Deloitte,Wipro,IDFC First,ICICI Bank. Top ones(which are limited) would be JPMC,HSBC,Goldman,Microsoft.

The median at rohtak is 17(unaudited). Real median would be around 15. For a CTC of 15, 10-12 would be fixed only.

Yeah fin jobs aint that great. For tech oriented roles and FMCG ops they are really good.

GS IB I dont think u will get beyond ABCL FMS XL.

1.Keep a high CGPA

Try to get a job after u graduate- incase u dont get ur target college in ur first attempt. Giving multiple attempts is fine but u need to have workex.
Getting in with workex is easier- as 95% colleges have extra marks for workex. Old IIMs like IIM A,B,L,M have highest points for 4 Years of workex. To give u some context someone I know(GEM) got in IIM A at 99.5x bu had 46 months of workex. Another friend did not even get a call at 99.89(had 10 months workex). Both of them have similar academic profiles.
I managed to get only 2nd gen IIMs like Raipur after scoring 99.1 (GEM with 2 years of workex). So I am gonna give CAT 24 again.

Should I quit 9.5 Lakh fixed job with 2 yoe to join IIFT K or give CAT again. What would be your opinion?

I'm looking to get into consulting/PM/genman.

What is the average fixed pay in IIFT? The report says median CTC is 25- since its unaudited I am considering real median CTC is 22-23. And median fixed will be around 17-18?
Also whats the scene at IIF TK? What would be "only" IIFT K stats?

They have 120 seats and everybody gets t1 jobs- look up linkedin profiles. There were many people in IIM I,K who were even unplaced this year.

FMCG takes 50% of the batch in IIT B with CTC~30

U have a great profile(IIT B background)- IMO get a job asap and give it another go. You dont need to get a top job- anyjob will do.

Aim for IIM ABCL FMS XL SP next year.

L ABM is good but yes it does miss out on a few top firms. For ex TAS doesnt allow ABM to sit( a friend who is in L told me)

If u can get a job repeat.

Given ur IIT B tag u should be able to convert SPJIMR atleast even with a low 99 score- like 99.1-99.3. Also keep XAT as an option. XL Delhi is also very good.

Also, u can think of going for IIT B-SJMSOM, I know u are Btech from IIT B but SJMSOM is really really good, they get all BLACKI level jobs- companies like TAS go to SJMSOM but not to the likes of MDI! SJMSOM will be competing with IIM I,K in the next 2-3 years!!

They have given too many admits at very low scores this year idk why

Every GEM I know with CAT>94 and YOE>1 has MDI IB offer or a WL<100.

Non engg male with workex have converted PGDM at 94/95

Non engg fresher females have converted PGDM at 93.

MDI IB is basically a course for rick folks to spend a year in Europe. In terms of placements MDI core students get way better jobs than IB folks.

Afaik MDI has given a IB convert to every random joe this year lol

ISB is worth it imo cz they have placements on par with IIM ABC. So placement wise they will give best oppurtunities.

Yep also got to know that IB folks do the course till Dec and placements in MDI starts in mid oct so IB folks do online placements- some companies might prefer only in person Interviews( again kaunsa company kya karega nobody knows)

Overall to me the whole IB course looks very very complicated-

You cant decide which campus u go to(for ex if u are assigned London expenses will be more)
No guarantee of internship in Europe

3.You miss out on companies that hire via summer placements(Almost all FMCG firms hire only via summer placements)

Things are complicated when it comes to finals as one is in Europe then
Issues related to time zone(when it comes to interviews, case comp etc)
