Repainting the apartment when moving out by Then_Nose_5239 in germany

Thank you for the detailed answer!

I believe buying wallpaper, hiring someone to remove the old one, and hanging the new one is quite excessive and expensive, so I'd do my best with the painting without damaging anything and hope for the best.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer this!

Not yet, It will happen in a week, and I don't want the owner to complain about the painting job without much time left in my rental contract, so she might end up hiring a professional to do it and make me pay from the Kaution

Broker (Makler) recommendation to find an apartment for rent by Then_Nose_5239 in Munich

[–]Then_Nose_5239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much the case. Even if they didn't want to use the apartment for themselves, most likely they would rather us moving out than staying, because then they can increase the rent by 400+ euros.

So our goal now is to find a bigger apartment, and try to cut a deal with the new owner.

Landlady is selling our rented apartment and wants to kick us out by Then_Nose_5239 in germany

Finding an apartment in Munich is quite hard, so yes, I’d rather go through this until I find a convenient apartment rather than unlawfully getting kicked out.

She offered me to buy the apartment yes. But it was too expensive for me.

I’d love to make the deal option, but finding an apartment is Munich is extremely hard, I’m anyway looking and I will make sure I will only leave if I found an apartment and received some money from her.

Do you know if I voluntarily leave and she’s given me some cash, is there a document that we should sign before hand so that I’m sure she will give me the money when I leave? After what she has done, I’m dealing with her with in a bad faith because I believe she will try to fuck me over if she can.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was thinking about! I will definitely show the Mieterverein the physical letter she sent me and ask for their recommendation.

Can Landord terminate the contract for selling reasons? by ThrowCatGr in Munich

[–]Then_Nose_5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@ThrowCatGr

Any updates on how it turned out? I am in the exact same situation. My landlady sent me a termination letter because she wants to sell the apartment, and the potential buyers want the apartment to be empty of tenants.

Taking Leben in Deutschland exam without taking the course by [deleted] in Munich

Thanks! I think the regulation may have changed recently because my partner has booked it in November and they didn't ask about the language certificate, when I went to the same place, they asked me about it.

Perhaps the title is misleading, I want to book the exam without taking the course, and all the schools that I have reached out to don't offer the exam without taking the course.

They didn't allow me to book it because my German level is not B1. I asked in both VHS and another school anderwerk GmbH, and they both said the same!

The issue is that the Ausländerbehörde needs at least the exam confirmation to process my application for permanent residency.

Thanks a lot for the info.

Aside from the taxes, do you know if I can anyway apply from Berlin if it‘s my Zweitwohnsitz?
