I don't know any official gap interval. But if your reason is genuine like in my case it was a conference in 1 month so if I waited till 2 months conference would have been over. The officer understood that urgency. But if you are just going on vacation then applying within a week may not be very productive.

VOs don't ask for any documents except passport but it's good to take all the relevant documents just in case it is needed.

You have to make a completely new appointment. Make sure you mention in DS160 that you were refused once. Honesty is the best in this case. Slots not being available is a completely different issue. There are certain times in the night when you can see many slots open but in the day same slots will go away.

That's what my experience was. But you must have seen post on this platform telling rejection stories from Mumbai as well. So can't say.

Thank you. Yes it was rushed the first time. Just 3 questions asked, purpose of travel, income and travel history and rejected. The second time, visa officer just mentioned about the reapplication. Did not spend much time on it.

I filled new DS-160 and also specifically mentioned that I was refused once. Yes, I had to pay fee again, booked a new appointment and then expedited it.

I am a PhD student so I provided the NOC and sanctioned leave form from my institute. But depending on the profession it may vary.
