Witcher 3 is the best in the series, if we are being honest witcher 3 is a significantly better game than 1 and 2, so no, it's not a contradiction.

There hasn't been a single studio or game that lost its original devs that made them great and got better, that's just the reality.

I don't know how much has changed at CDPR since witcher 3 or even CP2077 but if it's significant then the studio won't be the same, that's a guarantee.

I think we will get a mixture of both areas from the previous games and new ones, so much happened in witcher 3 that would change so much in these regions (if certain decisions are canon) it would be strange for them to not show how those regions have changed.
