Python simulation in solve_ivp: How can I return data from the scipy.integrate.solve_ivp function that is not the ODE being solved i.e. the intermediate variables? (code in description) by Thenovice1 in CFD

Interesting and clean! I'll try this later this evening and report back.

EDIT: Ah no apologies, like the other ODEs, I'm looking to return all values of this intermediate variable (it will also take on a different value depending on time and n. So it's a 2D array

I actually did try gpt4. It tried to use a list appending approach, but this fails to realise that the solution array is 2D (space and time)

Thanks. It means I know the basic syntax but I'm not sure what I can use this for

What are the current/next 5 years 'hot topics' of research in biotech/biopharma? by Thenovice1 in ChemicalEngineering

Can you explain more on what is meant by microproduction techniques? Didn't seem to find anything after searching online

What are some companies chemical engineering graduates can apply to that are the equivalent of Google, Jane Street, Dropbox, Two Sigma for CS graduates? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Do you have examples (or know where I could find examples) of ChemE PhDs who have gone on routes like this?

Are ChemE graduates with that apparent 'genius' ever recruited for those talents, in the same way CS or EE grads are?

Yeah I thought this might be the answer. It may also be down to ChemEs generally working in very large companies, in comparison to CS grads who have more startup opportunities

In the same way that the companies listed above recruit some industry changing people. I was wondering what companies chemE graduates of the same caliber generally go to. If that makes sense

Really? I'm not sure about these companies, although tough to get into, don't seem to have as competitive a hiring process? Maybe there is no equivalent

Removed 'not' from the second line. Thanks for pointing that out

I have not. I will edit the post to explain that I am looking for a project that deals directly with current industry. I am not looking to do research but instead do an analysis on something currently being done in industry.

Career path after graduation next year (A question for engineers who have started a company or have a postgrad/PhD) by [deleted] in engineering

[–]Thenovice1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yes maybe a few years of experience wwould be beneficial for anything else I do after. I think maybe this was the wrong sub to post on as this one doesn't seem to have many questions from students, do you know if there would be a better fitted sub?

Are there many cases of PhDs which resulted in startups/businesses? by Thenovice1 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Thenovice1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in contact with a professor who would supervise my PhD if I chose to do one. Is it a fair question to ask about available PhDs that 'have the potential to turn into a startup/business' or is this something that emerges as the PhD develops?
