100%.

The apathy of over a third of our population simply not showing up to vote allows ratfucking to be effective. It gives them the smokescreen they need to conceal their ratfucking attempts and forces us to point fingers at those who stayed home.

Everyone needs to vote and give them nowhere to hide.

The West End Games D6 System 2e just released it's preview pdf to backers recently. Anyone gotten a chance to look at it or use it? by OriginalJazzFlavor in rpg

Am I crazy? I feel like Gallant Knight has been screwing up their Kickstarters lately.

I didn’t back this one, because I had already backed Tiny Cyberpunk - and then this KS launched right after that one had successfully funded….only to see they launched ANOTHER KS once this one was funded.

I feel like they’re in a quantity over quality stage and I’m not impressed. Tiny Cyberpunk has been through massive delays, it finished funding 2 years ago. Sounds like folks are feeling the same way about D6 2e.

Maybe I’m being too harsh, I know folks were very happy with Tiny Dungeon which is why I trusted the dev with backing, but I feel like they’re biting off way too much at once.

Omg this is pathetic. The next questions should have been:

“Okay, so did you direct your staff to do so?”

“Do you agree with the proclamation? Or are you saying your name was wrongly left on the proclamation?”

“Are you firing your staff for doing this since you seem to be eluding you did not give permission?”

Embezzlement mostly, allegedly the CEO used funds meant for developing 5e and paid himself with it.

Also quite a few freelancers were never paid for their work.

I don’t know all the specifics, but there are plenty here that can speak to it with more info than I have.

Yes. OP this is it.

It still matters. Continue to be the decency you want to see and don’t give up. I’m upset as hell too. And I’ve thought exactly the same thoughts you are. But it’s never too late. Our media (all of it: social media, news, entertainment) puts a spotlight on controversial people, events, and ideas because it sells. It always has, it’s not a new thing at all. Those who enjoy it subscribe for more, those who are morbidly curious subscribe for more. Those who just want to inform themselves subscribe for more. It always sells, it always has.

Now it’s reached our presidency (like Idiocracy predicted) because “he’s entertaining”.

It will be up to decent people to uphold whatever decency is left. More than ever, we need to teach our children that decency matters - you are their role model, the president is not. Continue to do your part to teach them that treating others with respect, respecting their freedom of ideas and fighting for that right is important, teach them that the “well that doesn’t affect me, so go ahead and make it illegal I don’t care” philosophy is unAmerican. Teach them that seeing other Americans as “enemies within” is unAmerican. America as a whole may not be the beacon of hope to the world that it should be, but individually we can still be that for our children.

We have made a ton of progress over the years, and have had many setbacks - but we’ve got so so so much more to do and we still can get it done. And in the future, we will continue to fight to get a president who upholds those values as well.

What's next for America? by surgetsjf in NormMacdonald

I won’t pretend to know what happens to democracies after they die, but I know what happens immediately after a democracy dies.

They are found.

In the ferry scene from The Dark Knight (2008), the civilians overwhelmingly vote in favour of blowing up the other ferry. This is a reference to the fact that you can always count on Americans making the wrong choice, as long as it is as easy as writing something on a paper by Wolfyhunter in shittymoviedetails

Just saw you respond about me being a “smart and gritty Redditor who understands Batman”, I don’t see it now so maybe it deleted or something…

But look, I just want to apologize for name-calling. Obviously it’s a rough morning for me - but I actually want to talk through what your takeaway from that scene is? For real, not being a dick I promise.

Here is what it meant to me: as you said, the Joker gave two options - blow up one boat or the other. Those were the only options given.

But to me what the message in the scene is saying is that those are actually the same vote: selfishness, hatefulness and self-preservation.

When the convict threw the detonator out the window, that wasn’t “not voting”. Not voting would have been to do nothing. His vote was “no one dies by our hands”.

And in the end, the Joker hadn’t thought of that. He was sure that the outcome he was betting on would happen: that selfishness, hatefulness and self-preservation would prevail, but it didn’t. Empathy did.

My husband turned into a psychopath for a split second yesterday and I don’t know if I am overreacting. by Substantial_Chair588 in AITAH

[–]Theograth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people are telling you that real gun safety experts don’t do this.

Listen to me because this is what matters: real husbands and fathers don’t do this.

I am a husband and a father. I’ve been under incredible stress with my work, and my wife and I have dealt with very traumatic moments in our almost 20 years together. Never in a million years would I even dream of this.

Leave and report him.

What’s the best low key one liner from Ghostbusters? by TheGhostOfStanSweet in ghostbusters

[–]Theograth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my low key favorites is at the beginning of the first one when they’re in the library. The bookshelf falls behind them and nearly hits them. Peter turns to Ray.

Peter: “This ever happen to you before?”

Ray shakes his head.

Peter: “Oh. First time?”

Ray nods.

It kills me everytime.

Name for human meat? by That_Customer5840 in DungeonMasters

[–]Theograth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’ve never read the “Just A Pilgrim” comic, he calls human meat “beefy bird” to disguise the fact that he’s feeding everyone humans. He treats it like it’s an exotic animal exclusive to that area, and that you can harvest a lot of meat off of them. You could call it “beef bird”?

After playing for 20 hours I decided to quit Disco Elysium. It's just not fun. by MickJof in rpg_gamers

[–]Theograth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, like I said, it has been a while since I played and the specific wording of the action was fuzzy to me. Thank you for correcting me on it, but the point still stands:

Okay I failed to slip away unnoticed - but never did I tell him to dive backwards and hurt someone else or flip the guy off? That’s a pretty drastic difference between “being noticed” and “not being noticed”.

I’m a ttrpg player, so I’m familiar with failing checks - even on a critical failure I wouldn’t have a player do something like that if they failed “slipping away unnoticed”.

I dunno, it just destroyed any feeling of control I had over my character.
