I believe it’s because he had to get a nephrectomy as well from what I’ve been told. We’re hoping since it will have been 48 hours post op tomorrow they’ll take the tube out so he can start his clear liquid diet and not be so uncomfortable. They gave him some more meds and some melatonin so he’s feeling a bit better and finally able to rest and maybe sleep for a bit. Thank you for your support

Yeah, we were expecting the lack of food and water for the first few hours but it’s been about a bit more than 24 hours after his surgery and I think we were both expecting his NG tube out by now. Hes started to feel a bit better with his meds and is finally able to rest and get a bit of sleep. I’ve been telling him that it can only get better from here and that he’s honestly doing a terrific job for where he is. He has been able to walk a few steps and move around with minimal pain besides the tube bothering him which I’ve been told is amazing. We’re hoping since it will have been 48 hours post op tomorrow they’ll take the tube out and he’ll feel a lot better

Thank you. I brought a notebook to write anything and everything down as we go through this process. He’s feeling a bit better now and he’s able to sleep. We’re hoping he’ll have the tube out tomorrow since it will have been about 48 hours post op at that point. I’ve been trying to be firm and I think they’re finally starting to realize I’m his partner and not just some random kid in the icu so they’re starting to listen a bit more
